So some of you might remember that for the last two years my friend Sophie and I have been the emcees for a conference called DotMom.
And some of you may have no idea what I’m talking about and that’s okay too because how are you supposed to remember my life? I can barely remember my own life, much less someone else’s.
Anyway, DotMom is a conference geared specifically for moms. Hence, the name. And for the last two years it’s been in Birmingham, Alabama. But this February 22-23 it’s going to be held in Frisco, Texas right outside of Dallas. I couldn’t be happier about it because, while Alabama is lovely, there is no place like home and I’m so excited for some Texas moms to get to experience all the fun.
(Not that it’s limited to moms from Texas. It’s open to anyone who wants to come to Texas for the conference.)
(Am I over-explaining?)
(Yes. Yes I am.)
The DotMom conference is one of my very favorite events because there are great speakers plus breakout sessions on everything from being a stepmom to being a good in-law. Rumor has it I might even be doing a session on fashion.
And the four main speakers are some of my favorites: Priscilla Shirer, Angie Smith, Vicki Courtney and John Croyle. I may actually be most excited to see John Croyle because I first met him at DotMom in Alabama last fall and he gave me a hard time about the Aggies joining the SEC. The phrase “lamb to the slaughter” may have been used.
(I may or may not bring him his very own Johnny Manziel t-shirt.)
The thing is I never leave DotMom without feeling like I’ve learned something that will help me be a better mom. Sometimes it’s just good to listen to other people’s experience and advice as we try to figure this whole parenting thing out.
Plus, did I mention that Frisco has a large outlet mall? It doesn’t get much better than that.
I’m thrilled to have two free passes to DotMom in Frisco on February 22-23 to give away today. All you have to do for a chance to win is leave a comment below. I’ll email the winner this Sunday, January 13th to confirm that they can attend.
If in any event the winner is unable to fulfill their duties, the crown will go to the first runner-up.
Except there is no crown. Just free tickets.
And if you don’t win, I hope you’ll sign up to go anyway. I promise it will be great.
