Because whiskers on kittens aren’t really my favorite

My headache is back again tonight. And so I’m about to treat myself to some peppermint oil and go climb in bed. But first I thought I’d share a few things that are currently on my list of favorites. Because I’m a giver.

1. sally hansen colorfast tint + moisture lip balm

So I bought this on a whim the other day because I was all WHAT? Sally Hansen makes something besides nail products?

After much deliberation, I decided on a shade called happy berry. Not to be confused with Halle Berry. And I’m a fan. I love that it’s just a big fat pencil like thing, but moisturizes like a real lip balm. Plus the color actually lasts.

2. garnier miracle skin corrector bb cream

Remember when I talked about BB creams about a month ago? At that point I hadn’t tried the Garnier version.

Now I have. And the verdict is I’m a fan. A big fan. I’ve been using it every morning instead of my Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer. It goes on smooth and a little goes a long way.

3. the home tee

I ordered the Texas version of this shirt and LOVE it. It’s so soft and a great fit. I even ordered the small and it’s plenty big even though I normally get a medium in most shirts.

Best of all, you can get one with whatever state you’d like and part of the proceeds go toward Multiple Sclerosis research.

4. striped infinity scarf

This weekend I bought one of these for Caroline. Granted, it wasn’t from Sam Moon, but it is a striped infinity scarf and it is so soft. Not to mention they’re only $6.00.

5. a little salty to cut the sweet

Y’all. My friend Sophie’s first book comes out in just a little over a month. And I am so excited about it.

I mean I’ve already read it. So mainly I’m just excited for you because you get to read it and it’s so funny and sweet and good. Just like Sophie.

You can read more about it and even download the first chapter on her book page.

6. OPI don’t pretzel my buttons

 photo 300_zps27d6e854.jpg

A few days ago, I was on the Twitter and happened to notice that Christy Nockels tweeted about this nail polish color. And so, obviously, I went to the store to see it for myself.

If you’re a fan of a good, natural color, this one is just about perfect. I’ve had it on my toes for three days now and it makes me happy every time I see it. It’s a nice change from all the Easter egg colors I’ve had lately.

I really thought I might have a few more things, but I think that’s it for today. I have a big date with peppermint oil and a bedtime that would make a grandma jealous.

I’d like to win All Of The Things above because the way you’ve described each makes me want to win every stinkin’ one of them.

Wait. This isn’t a giveaway post, is it?

    Drat it!

(Sophie’s book cover makes me smile EVERY TIME!!!)

This morning I got a notice that my card was finally charged for buying your book in pre-sale (from B&N). I do hope you got paid WAY before now! Loved your book and bought a second copy to send to my (pregnant) sister. Thanks for all the laughs!

I was so excited to see the cute t-shirt that the proceeds go to MS, I live with this disease and am going to order myself one!!!

  4. Amanda says

I hate to be mean, but Diet Coke could be contributing to your headaches. Diet drinks are notorious for causing headaches. Hoping it may only be allergies. Hope you feel better soon.

I, too, hope you are feeling better soon. So enjoy your blog and your lists of things you like. I don’t shop much but always do after these lists to get a few things. I’m especially glad to know about the OPI color as I received a gift certificate for a pedicure for Christmas. A couple of years ago you mentioned Cover Girl lipslicks in daring so everytime there was a $2.00 coupon in the paper I would buy one (it was perfect for me) so I now have a stockpile to use up!! Simply loved your book…have passed it on to my daughter-in-law to read.

I concur on the Garnier BB cream too. Just started using it last week and love it on my 46 year old skin!

      • Shannon says

What powder do you use over it? I’m excited to hear the the Garnier is as good as or better than mercier as I do like the $$ so much more!

  6. Aggiema (Michelle) says

Sorry you are still battling the headaches. I think it is something in the air here in SA. I hardly ever get headaches (sinus problems galore but not headaches) and I have gotten several in the last few days.

I just adore the Home t-shirt! I’ve seen it floating around Pinterest and I always think that Texas is the prettiest state. As I perused the website looking at all of other state tees, my feelings were confirmed. I mean, come on, poor Colorado. It looks more like they’re homeless and they’re celebrating that they live in a box. Yay for pretty states!

    • says

But you know, the great thing about Colorado is while everyone might not recognize it, you, and others from the state do. And that’s cool. It’s like your own little club.

I find it funny that I’m home sick today watching The Sound of Music as I read this. :)
PS, I’ve got to get myself one of those Missouri home shirts!

Ok right up front I’ll admit I’ll sound like a nut case…..but here goes:

My daughter 43 and grandaughter 15 have sufferd from serious headaches

My daughter did lots of research…….the result they have tried to totally cut out artificial sweeteners……….especially gum….YES I said gum…….the result neither is them have had a headache for close to a month……..yesterday my grandaughter chewed a pieced of sugar free gum and withing 20 minutes threw up and had a major headache .

It is amazing the number of products that are in our foods (additives and chemicals) that are NOT allowed in Europe. Take Gaterade for instance……a 15 year old girl has gotten their attention and they are changing what they use in that.

No I don’t eat only “Pure-raw” food……yes I eat McDonald’s…..Sonic. Etc. but it is worth reading about for the sake of our health and that of our children.

Reading your blog makes me shop. This is good therapy. Thank you.

I feel it absolutely necessary to share that I simply LOVE Nivea A Kiss of Cherry Flavored Tinted Lip Care with SPF 10. I cannot live without it.

  11. says

I was going to leave some witty comment…but now, I have to run off and buy a scarf, nail polish and BB cream! And PS: I can’t wait to read Sophie’s book! XOXO

  12. Trish White says

I JUST started using a BB cream from Sephora this past week and I LOVE it! I think it’s Dr. Jart or something like that. It works wonders on my complexion! I was using LM tinted moisturizer but realized I needed slightly more coverage as I get older and the BB cream does the trick without all the heavy foundation.
Little tidbit – my sister gets migraines if she has splenda. It’s in so many things – even bread! You may see if the artificial sweetener/splenda thing is a trigger for you.

  13. says

I’m sorry about your headache! Yuck!

So, I’ve been loving the Garnier as well! But, I noticed that I started breaking out – has anyone else been having this problem?

Hope you feel better sweet lady!

  14. Tina says

Maybe a sinus infection??? Just finished second round of antibiotics and just had headaches and fatigue. Feel better soon.
