First let me say, paper calendar users of the world unite! We are not alone. We are good enough, we are smart enough and, doggone it, people like us.
Or if they don’t like us, we can just erase their birthdays off our paper calendars.
Second, Caroline got into the car after school yesterday with a gift wrapped package. I asked, “Who gave you a present?” She responded, “It’s not for me. It’s for you.” And I was puzzled because it looked like this.
It’s not every day that I receive a gift wrapped in camouflage wrapping paper. Which is a shame.
I opened the card and discovered it was a gift from my friend Laura. She wanted to make sure that I was equipped to handle 2014 and all the challenges it has brought.
No greater love hath a woman for her friend than the last box of dark peppermint Joe-Joes, a bottle of what is apparently an increasingly rare Bordeaux, and a block of 2% Velveeta that I might be able to sell on Ebay for a profit if this shortage continues.
It’s enough to make me believe that 2014 is going to be okay after all.
Here’s what I found this week:
1. box tunic
I saw this the other day and really liked it. It also comes in an olive green color. I love a tunic that you can wear with leggings. It’s like socially acceptable pajamas.
I was struggling with Fashion Friday this week but then I got the new Free People catalog in the mail and promptly fell in love with this tunic. It also comes in black and a deep purple.
This is the kind of top I love to buy to wear under various things in the winter and then wear by itself with jeans or shorts in the summer.
Boden is having a big clearance sale and this is available in limited sizes. But it’s such a cute coat at such a great price that I had to share.
Sadly, this isn’t the best price. But it is so dang cute I can hardly stand it.
I’ve been eyeing these at Gap for a while. I love the little bit of shimmer around the neckline and it’s a great length. Perfect to wear under a jacket.
This had me at hello. It comes in several color combinations and I think it’s the cutest. You don’t even know.
Did I mention I also got the Boden catalog in the mail yesterday? Because I did. And that’s where I found this shirt. It also comes in several different colors.
9. dre mixed knit tunic sweater
I love a big sweater.
10. old navy quilted barn vest
These quilted vests are part of Old Navy’s huge clearance sale that’s going on right now. They are only $17.97 and come in a bunch of cute colors. I happen to like the hot pink.
And so there you have it.
Have a good Friday.
Don’t forget to stock up on wine and Velveeta over the weekend.
