On Monday, Caroline and I went to the Sears Auto Center because I had to buy a new battery for my car. This is one of those purchases that falls right above washing machine repair and right below fixing the roof. In other words, smack dab in the middle of the list entitled “Why Adulthood Is Often Not Fun”.
But instead of waiting at Sears for the car to be ready, we walked across the street to the mall like we were very urban, big city type people. Our first stop was at the Food Court because we hadn’t eaten lunch yet and then we made our way to the Apple Store because Caroline has been saving up for an iPad forever and was finally ready to make her big purchase. After we left the Apple store we just wandered the mall aimlessly because the car wasn’t ready yet and ended up in a dressing room because I saw what I believed to be a cotton, tie-dye maxi dress in the window and thought it would be a great addition to my summer wardrobe.
However, I was unprepared for this turn of events.
It was a jumpsuit. M.C. Hammer style.
Well.
That was not something I was emotionally prepared to handle.
Not only did I have to see myself in a jumpsuit, I was denied the tie-dyed maxi dress I envisioned.
The good news is I did manage to find several things this week that are neither a harem-style jumpsuit nor traumatizing.
This is one of those things at Anthropologie that I would never have paid full price for, but I really like now that it’s on sale for $39.95. Just a great layer for the summer to add to an outfit without being insufferably hot.
I’ve been on the search for a cute coverup – hence the tie-dye jumpsuit disaster – and I really like this one.
I love this because it’s patriotic without being over the top.
4. streets of peru embroidered dress
We aren’t there yet, but there will come a day this summer when it is so hot that I will wish for clothes that barely touch my body. This dress is that kind of thing. Plus, I really like the way it looks.
5. noonday collection botanical bag
Noonday Collection is having a huge sale on some things right now so I suggest you go look immediately. My personal favorite is this darling bag with a detachable strap that was originally $78 and is now $19.50.
Apparently this isn’t in the Gap stores yet which explains why I’d never seen it until about ten minutes ago. I love the print and the colors. And it’s 30% off with code WARM at checkout or 40% off if you have a Gap Card with code SUNSHINE.
This is really pretty and also comes in black.
Love this easy button down style shirt. Plus it’s on sale for $35 and also comes in cobalt and emerald. You could even throw this on over your swimsuit with a pair of shorts.
9. old navy crinkle gauze skirt
Old Navy has some really cute skirts right now, including this one. And everything is 25% off with code SPREE at checkout.
Love these sandals and they’re only $19.99. They also come in cognac or black. Simple and clean.
11. mossimo crochet cover up dress
And I had to add this because I just saw it. I’m not really a fan of it in this green color, but I love the white or black option.
That’s it for today.
Have a good Friday.
