Hello?
Is this thing on?
I think I’ve forgotten how to write. Or maybe it’s just after spending most of the Christmas break either at home with people with the flu or actually having the flu, I have absolutely nothing to say. The biggest indicator of life over the last few weeks was when I went to do laundry and realized that 90% of the dirty clothes were some variation of pajamas.
But we are slowly returning to real life. Monday morning was a shock when the alarm went off and I realized I had to cook breakfast and pack a lunch again. And I’ve made some attempts to get back in the swing of real life, but I can tell I’m still not functioning at 100% because just about everything makes me feel like maybe I need to go take a nap. Of course it doesn’t help that I stayed up too late on Sunday night watching The Golden Globes and too late on Monday night watching the National Championship game.
Although I do have to say I’m so glad I ended up watching the game until the end. I nearly went to bed with ten minutes left in the fourth quarter because it seemed inevitable that Alabama was going to win. But then Clemson scored and chaos ensued and the last ten minutes really did embody the best of college football and why I love it so much. It also confirmed that I will cry every time I watch a sports team celebrate a huge victory even when I am not invested in that team. Maybe it’s for the best that A&M hasn’t won a football National Championship in my lifetime because I may not be emotionally equipped to handle it.
In other sporting news, Caroline had school soccer tryouts on Monday and Tuesday and we found out she made the team so that’s exciting and means our next few months will basically be all soccer, all the time. It also means that there may not be enough bleach to get the smell out of her cleats because you know what little soccer girls are made of? It sure isn’t sugar and spice. It’s more along the lines of three day old wet trash.
And since I really have no other news, I thought it might be fun to ask y’all a question I’ve seen floating around on social media since the answers never fail to crack me up. Here it is:
What is a NON-POLITICAL opinion you hold that would be considered unpopular?
Here are my answers. I do not care for Chinese food. It has too much flavored sauce and water chestnuts are lurking everywhere and I don’t really know why anyone would choose to eat steamed white rice ever. Also, I don’t enjoy watching anything on HGTV with the exception of Fixer Upper and that’s really more about seeing what Joanna is wearing than anything she does to a house.
Oh and, finally, I have no desire to take a cruise ever. The thought of being trapped on a boat in the middle of an ocean with no easy way out is the stuff of horror movies. I don’t care if the food is good and I don’t care if Alaskan glaciers are breathtaking. No. Thank you and good day.
