This is word-for-word the bedtime prayer offered by Caroline last night. I feel certain it is destined to become a classic along the lines of “Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep”.
“Dear Jesus,
Thank you for this day and all this stuff you give us.
Please send a beautiful rainbow for us to see some time when it rains.
Thank you for my mama. We love each other so much.
(reaches up to touch my ear)
Please Jesus, don’t let her wear these earrings anymore.
Amen.”

I feel sure her prayers make the Lord smile and giggle as much as they did me this morning! Thanks for starting my morning out with a smile! Hope your having a wonderful blog break and enjoying your time with the Father… Happy Easter! – R
Did he answer her prayer?
He, did He, answer her prayer?
So sweet about telling you What Not to Wear! lol
This is my all-time favorite Caroline story. That child is a riot.
Oh girl, you have your own Rachel Zoe, except much much cuter and sweeter. Can I ask what earrings caused her to carry her concerns to Jesus?
Some posts just write themselves, huh?
This is one reason I cannot wait to have children!! How precious!
The other night when saying prayers with my 5 yr old I said something about ‘Lord, we want to learn more about you, etc, etc.’ and 5 yr old said and I want to learn more about HIP HOP HARRY. After seeing the disgust on my face he quickly said “and God, too” Oh! Out of the mouths of babes! Your girl is a CRACK UP! But the apple does not fall far from the tree.
That is classic.
Do you think she was speaking in the Spirit?
I am confident that if I were ever to meet Miss Caroline, I would adore her, because from your bloggings she sounds just hilarious!
Oh my gosh! Fashion prayers. Now I’ve heard it all!
Hysterical. I can only imagine what she’ll be like in 10 years!! Hee, hee.
Oh, that is precious! How funny! One of my favorite things my daughter ever said or did was a note she wrote me years ago that said, “Dear Mama, I love you very much, even though I am seven.” LOL
Kids are the best blessings! My husband and I were childless for 16½ years before adopting our daughter as a newborn. We have enjoyed every day of the nearly 19 years since then!

I LOVE IT!! That’s too funny. So, did you ever wear the earrings again? Kids are so honest.
I loooooove this! It is such the kind of thing our Maggie would say – - at 6 she is VERY prone to comment on ANY fashion decision I might make. And she’s usually right . . . grrrr.
That made me laugh out loud — so cute!
Oh man! Thank you for that!
LOL
This sure brightened my day. I wish this post had a picture of those earrings you were wearing that day just so I could see if they were really awful or not
Children are the greatest aren’t they? So honest!
Oh, the burdens she bears…bless her heart for being so concerned for you!!!
Suzanne
Aaaaamen.
Kiddie prayers are the funnest thing ever.
OK, I’m gonna need to see those earrings! LOL
That is too, too cute! What precious memories you are making with this little girl. I know you cherish her.
Hilarious!! The things these children pray for… precious.
Thank you so much for sharing that cute story. I really needed that laugh after the evening I’ve had!
Your posts, even the repeats, are the best! This one made me burst out laughing! It always makes my day a little better when I can laugh like that! Thanks!
I became a single mom when my daughter was ten years old. We spent many…many wonderful nights saying prayers together and just laying in bed talking. She will turn 40 in May is is now a wonderful Christian mom of two precious children…that she says nightly prayers with. Thanks for the touching post.
That sounds so much like my Abby…..kids give us the best stories!!!
I notice you didn’t offer to show the internet the lovely earrings in question?
Hope you are enjoying the break this week, and glad you re-posted….I would have missed this classic, otherwise.
Thanks for giving me a smile today. Or, thank Caroline.
I am so glad you are taking a bloggy break…I missed this one earlier! Classic Caroline! Too cute!
OMG!!!! HOW FUNNY!!!!!!
LOL!! I am reading this for the first time. So precious!
Classic! Good thing you wrote that down. Things like that are so awesome to look back on years later. I wish I had written down more when my boys were young.
Love reading your blog!
God love her lol i have tears in my eyes laughing lol so precious!
Hahahahaha!
Caroline is a hoot, just like her mamma!!!
