They are originally from Houston but now live in Chicago and it brought back lots of memories for them. I've told my husband we should go for Fiesta sometime. I grew up in Uvalde, and we did NOT have an Easter without Cascarones...or a 4th of July, or a Christmas, New Year's Eve or Confederate Hero's Day. Ok. Maybe not. But I LOVED hearing about cascarones from way up here in the Panhandle where I am definitely an immigrant missing my native roots! Ole! Caccarone’s are definitely a South Texas thing!
