Last night I was getting ready to go shopping and out to dinner with some friends when I realized it had been at least ten minutes since Caroline had walked into the bathroom to comment on my choice of outfit or beg to use my eyelash curler. I walked into the living room to see what she was doing and this is what I found.

She told me that it was her new superhero costume.
It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s Samurai Pirate Butterfly Girl.
Complete with extra large black boots.

I particularly love the expression of doom that she’s wearing…goes well with the boots.
Where on earth did she get sense of drama?
I thought she looked like a pirate ninja with angels’ wings, but she’s right, SPBG would be a better super hero name, tough but girly at the same time.
Oh, I LOVE it! Way to go SPB Girl. I’m especially fond of the purple wings – they really set off the red kimono well.
Did she slay the duck first?
Oh, those were the fun days! My now 25 year old son had a costume that he created that was funny! In effort to create a helmet, he wore whitey tighties on his head! Have fun!
She and my 3 year old would be kindred spirits, I’m sure. You wouldn’t believe some of the ensembles that make their way into our living room.
Although…I haven’t seen a samurai pirate fairy yet. Yet.
Keep those pictures for her teenage years. It’s should be suffice for blackmail when she isn’t cooperating.
She is a screech!! Love it!
Way to go SPB Girl! You are going to have so much fun with these pictures when she grows up. And who knows, she may grow up to be a cartoonist, like my oldest. Start them out young!
Your child is a riot!
It must be a blast living at your house! Love it
I think it is key that she didn’t forget to accessorize. You have taught her well. The pink flower ring definitely compliments the the purple wings!
And four years ago you thought your little girl would want to wear all things pink, sparkly, fluffy and pretty, complete with heels and jewelry. Instead, she asks for the eyelash curler.
I’m sure this complex (or well rounded?) set of personality traits will serve her well in her teenage years.
It’s the “do” rag that makes it. Love it!
LOVE IT. She’s very creative, at least
Oh to be a kid again and have such great immagination!
I love the kick action, as well!
That is priceless! Be sure to include those photos in a video/photo montage at her wedding some day!
Hilarious. She’s creative that girl. Love the facial expressions too.
hilarious! i hope she never grows out of the ability to be creative and have an active imagination. such a gift!
and she is a treasure!
that’s awesome! she’s got some creativity for sure!
She is the best Super Hero I have ever seen!! Super Man better watch out…..there is a new Hero in town.
Well I am glad to know it is not just my boys! Very proud of her for getting that all on! Looks good!
That’s so funny. Her & my girl Alivia would get along so great. :0)Thanks for the smile this morning.
O my! She is too genius! I’m gonna have to take some notes from this girl!!
I totally want her to marry my son. Something tells me that girlfriend could keep a man in line.
Why didn’t you wear something like that when you went out with the girls? I hear that’s totally “the thing” these days…
That is SO cute! Got me giggling
ROFLMAO! I love it when kids dress up and invent themselves this way. It’s so insightful.
Ohhhh, HILARIOUS!!!
I kinda want her boots, and the komono. I love the “pirate” headband!!!
That.Is.Awesome! Oh, to be unencumbered with life’s worries and allow your imagination to soar so high
I never comment, but a costume like that needs a theme song. There’s a Christian group, Superchick. They sing a song entitled “One Girl Revolution.” It would be perfect. She does completely look like a really cool Manga character. I love it.
And she has a duck for a sidekick.
This is too cute!! What an imagination!
Well, everybody loves Samurai Pirate Butterly super heroes.
You gotta love a good imagination!
I love this blog and have never left a comment. But today, I must know if SPB Girl is guarding the defenseless baby duck on the seat behind her?
I really think she’s destined for Hollywood!
I hope Caroline has a blog when she’s older… I think these pictures could encourage some great blog material!
love these pictures….what an imagination.
Oh yes, I’d recognize her anywhere!
She looks like she could take on Jillian.
Now that is one tough chick who I would not mess with. I’d expect a call from Marvel comics any minute. I’m thinking there might be a lot of merchandising opportunities with super hero dolls. What girl wouldn’t love to switch out the pirate sword for nunchucks? Watch out Barbie!
The dainty, delicate wings are a nice contrast with the rest of the look, and keep her in touch with the kinder, gentler Caroline, I’m sure.
Your kid is awesome.
I just recently found your blog and love it! I know this a completely random question but my husband and I are remodeling our kitchen and I LOVE the color you have painted yours. From the pictures it looks like a very pale green. Would you mind sharing what it is called? I know what I like once I see it but put me in Lowes staring at the wall of paint chips and I am utterly hopeless!
That little girl of yours is something else! I have a feeling she takes after her mama. Those pics are priceless. You will have to bribe her with them later. I can see those showing up at a wedding rehearsal dinner one of these days.
That takes some imagination… I can’t let Wee Man see it or I will have the boy version of her superhero…
Love it! So, cute!!!
an actress.
a fashionista.
a diva.
a star is born.
she is absolutely beautiful. fun. talented. a triple threat.

My mistake, I thought she was a ninja fairy. She sure has quite the imagination!
