Did I mention that I left for Nashville yesterday? Because I did. I boarded a Southwest Airlines plane to Nashville at 4:25 p.m. yesterday and as of this moment I’m in a very comfortable king size bed in my very own hotel room. It’s delightful, especially because they have fitted bottom sheets which is the standard by which I judge all hotels.
Well, that and if their continental breakfast includes more than a piece of rubber masquerading as a bagel.
Anyway, I’m here with Sophie for the LifeWay Women’s Forum. We’re teaching a class on how social media can be your friend.
(I don’t think that’s the official title.)
If you want to see some live footage from the conference, it’s being streamed live all day long from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. and you can watch it by clicking here. There’s no telling what you might see in the span of those twelve hours, but I’ll bet there will be a little bit of Travis Cottrell and Priscilla Shirer in the mix.
One more thing, if you read one thing today, make it this post that Shaun Groves wrote from El Salvador yesterday about spending time with his sponsored child. It’s the perfect picture of what Compassion does.
Y’all have a great Friday.

Nikki says:
There is NOTHING worse than being in a hotel bed with the sheets all messed up because they didn’t bother to buy a fitted bottom sheet. (Well, there are plenty of things worse, but that has such an easy fix so it should be a given.) Enjoy your trip!

Hey Big Mama! I know that this is off topic from your post, But I just wanted you to know that I woke up in the middle of the night with a tingling lip. As I rushed to swallow my 3 l-lysine pills, and as they were taking their time getting past my throat, I thought of you. And I had a pretty good blow water out my nose laugh! Man, those are some HUGE pills! I hope you enjoy your trip!

A hotel room all to yourself? Jealous here! I think Priscilla Shirer is great…I’ve never heard her speak in person, but I’ve done a few of her Bible studies, and they are great.
Hope you have a great workshop!

your aggies are coming here to norman tomorrow. I will be at the game (hopefully) to cheer on my sooners! they may have 88% of their starting line-up out because of season-ending injuries, and they may have played their worst football game EVER last week, but I think OU will still bring an aggie-smackdown.
have fun in nashville!

Do you mean that if we tune into all the *live* stuff we might see you live and in person in something other then a scarf video?! Don’t get me wrong,I’ve watched the scarf video about 2 or 23 times, but watching you and Sophie talk about social media can be MY friend-now that is sure to be exceptional.
Are you by any chance going to see Angie Smith while you’re in her neck of the woods? If you do, you have to give her a hug from me!

I’m watching it online now! Priscilla is really great…inspiring, challenging, very real. I’ve never heard her speak before…boy, have I been missing out. So glad you’re able to be there (and that you told us how to be a part of it).
On another note, and because it’s Fashion Friday, I BEG you to find out where on earth her knit dress came from. It is absolutely fabulous!

I am totally with you on the fitted sheet comment. I also wished that hotels would put real, living green plants in the room… even just one would help.
