I was totally prepared to discuss trends for Spring, but then I decided I don’t have the energy to get through it today. The new spring trends require a lot of thought and meditation. Frankly, I’m not up for the task right now.
But maybe next week.
Or maybe not.
I’m just a little out of the words today. A statement that will seem ironic when this post comes in at 1000 words plus.
(I was wrong. This is actually one of the shortest posts I’ve ever written. Maybe I really am out of the words. Or maybe it’s the Benadryl I took thirty minutes earlier.)
On the bright side, this week was apparently the week of the spring catalogs and so even though I haven’t stepped foot in any sort of retail establishment, I’ve seen some very cute things.
I don’t really know that my world was as happy as it’s been since I discovered the beauty of a tunic top.
I’m pretty much in love with the entire Sundance catalog. When I first sat down with it, I began to turn down the corners of pages with things I liked and ultimately realized it doesn’t help much when every page is turned down.
It’s not that I actually buy everything I like, but it gives me a place to go back and gaze fondly while I think about what could have been.
Trench coat? Good. Ruffles? Good.
Trench coat and ruffles together? GOOD.
I know I featured a ruffled tank last week, but this one is a different ruffled tank. The more the merrier I always say. Unless you hate ruffles and tank tops.
5. Big Buddha Hibiscus tote
This should have been the first thing on my list because I am so in love with it. If there is a cuter handbag for spring and summer, then I don’t know it.
I’m calling it a day. I need to rest up for the weekend because I have big plans to sleep and then watch some DVRed television. I have goals.
If you want to go visit someone who’s ready to discuss spring trends, go visit Jo-Lynne at Musings of a Housewife.
Y’all have a great Friday.

Look at that fabulous jacket!
Drooling,

I think I may need to take Olivia home with me!
I hate ruffles and tank tops. I guess we’ll never be together. (name that movie)
(I should clarify that I hate them on ME. They look dreamy on people with real chests and smooth, taut arms.)
I worry about you when your posts are short(er than your usual novellas). Please e-mail me when you get a chance, and put my mind at ease.
Love the tunic tops….so much…..and always LOVE your blog
oooh- i love that big buddah hibiscus tote!!!! wowza! heart.
can i suggest a topic for fashion friday?
what do you think about keeping old clothes from the past…the ones you’re trying to get into to get to your goal weight? what about the clothes that are too big for you (from when you weighed more…assuming you ever weighed more, of course!)
I ask b/c I recently lost 60 pounds (I have about 30 left to go). I have a bunch of clothes that are too big for me. I have a bunch of clothes I can’t fit into yet (from when I was skinnier way back in the day).
What should I do with all these clothes? I have about 5 things that fit me currently. I lose only about 1/2 pound every week, so it’s not like I am losing weight rapidly- just about two pounds/month.
Should I ditch the old skinny clothes? What about the old fat clothes?
Thanks!

I’m loving the Southern Wind Trench Coat. It’s not my usual style, but I might have to change just for it! The best thing is the price…it’s affordable…well, it will be when I get my next paycheck
I usually just skim through your Fashion Friday posts – I admit – ’cause I’m not much into fashion. I’m a jeans and t-shirts kinda gal. But handbags are my passion. The only link I clicked on today was for that tote, and I AM IN LOVE. Thank you. I will spend the whole day at work today trying to figure out how to fit that in my budget. LOVE IT! Happy Friday!
I think I love you.
Just got my new Sundance catalog this week too (a highpoint, I can assure you) as well as a JJill and… something else. Anyway, love your blog. I’m going to peruse for a few.
Have a great weekend.
The irony is that you might actually have the weather to WEAR spring clothes. I wish I could pull off that orange top in the Sundance catalog. That is so cute. But I think it probably looks best on those less, um, well-endowed. Hmph.
I want that Hibiscus tote! Love the ruffled tanks, but I’m not wearing any tank top until I can get things under control here.
LOVE that Hibiscus tote…and just ordered it in black! Thanks for the tip!
I LOVE getting catalogues in the mail. I sit down with them and turn all the pages down of the items I like or I circle them with my pen and then I ….
throw away the catalogue. Too dangerous! You have such great taste. I love the items that you choose to show on your Friday blogs. Have a great weekend and get over those benedryl blues.
I love ruffles! I’m sure I’ll want more ruffles this spring. Why does my husband hate ruffles??
Okay, I love the tunic….but is it a bathingsuit cover-up, or can I wear it with jeans???
Anything with ruffles I gotta have.
oh…that lovely handbag is actually DISCOUNTED…from $79 to $76! How do you feel about such shallow discounts?
That handbag is practically a STEAL at 4% off!!
(Sadly, it took my uncaffeinated brain an embarassing amount of too long time to figure that up. And it’s Friday. I’m spent.)
I do love the trench. And the ruffles. LOVE.
I can’t really say that I enjoy the shape and placement of the design on the tunic. Seems… off a bit!
LOVE the jacket.
LOVE the Olivia tunic! Please give me permission to wear something underneath it though. My thighs haven’t looked like that since I was 8.
I have a love/hate relatioship with ruffles. I love them…but pretty much always on other people. I’m too well endowed to put them anywhere on my front. But when I find a cute ruffled cuff or on a hem somewhere I’m very happy…until it comes time to iron it. Praise God for Wrinkle Release!
Thank you for the handbag shout-out! LOVING flowery spring handbags!
Make that the “Emporia” tunic. Olivia’s cute too, but that’s more orange than I’m willing to commit to, what with the hair and all.
Love your blog! The Hibiscus tote is darling, just ordered it in black. Thanks for the tip!
ok…that trench was AWESOME and the Big Buddha purse rocks!
Thanks for taking time to do it even though you weren’t really into it!!!!!
OMG! Love, love, love the tunic and the trench!
Ruffled trench coat… LOVE.
That Benadryl is rough. You did good to come in at 100 words.
