It’s Day Three of Typhoid Watch 2010 and I’m not really any better. There was one point yesterday afternoon that some sort of front blew through and I turned into a human barometer. The pressure in my head was unbelievable and had it not been for a Route 44 Diet Coke from Sonic and three Motrin, I’m not sure I would have lived to tell about it.
Yes, I should probably go to the doctor, but what if he gave me antibiotics to make me feel better? What would I complain about then? And how am I supposed to make a list for Fashion Friday if I’m busy getting medical attention?
It’s about priorities. I have them.
But this will still be the briefest post in Fashion Friday history. I just don’t have the strength to ramble.
1. Women’s slub knit tiered skirts
Old Navy has their skirts on sale for $15.00. A total bargain.
The weather here has been gorgeous all week and it’s reminded me how much I love to be able to just throw on a skirt and a t-shirt during the warm/boiling hot months. Especially a skirt that only costs $15.00.
I am in love with the flower pin. I saw this one on Etsy the other day and thought it was the perfect thing to add a little zip to a plain t-shirt. And when it comes to plain t-shirts, my personal favorite is the Timeless crewneck tee because they don’t shrink or fade. I still wear one that I bought five years ago.
Oh, and if the flower pin isn’t your thing, then you might like this poppy necklace. How cute is that?
Remember last week when I mentioned that lace tops were in for Spring? I think this one would look so cute with jeans or dressed up with black pants or a skirt.
Because accessories make everything better.
5. Crinkle flower t-strap sandal
I guess this year is the year of the flower. I love these sandals with the flower details.
And I also like these rhinestone thong sandals in silver.
Did you know you can design your own pair of Converse? How fun is that?
But if you don’t need the pressure of designing your own tennis shoes, then how about this Jack Purcell Gingham pair or this plaid pair?
I am a big fan of Mexican embroidered tunics and tops for this time of year. So cute and fun.
I just think this is really pretty.
While I love cardigans on other people, they just never seem to work for me. They make me feel like I’m playing dress up or something. I can’t explain it.
However, they are very in for Spring and I think this one is really pretty.
10. Beaded knit sheath dress
I love that this is a pretty dress, yet it’s still just a knit dress. I think it would look so pretty with the silver sandals that I mentioned earlier.
I also really like this applique jersey t-shirt dress. Pretty and comfortable. What a concept.
That’s it for today.
Y’all have a great Friday.

Hope you feel better. I love your blog. You make me smile.
cardigans make me think of old men and canes
Feel better!
Pretty excited that I bought something from the list before you listed it! I got two of the Old Navy skirts last night. I feel so ahead of the fashion game today!
This rarely happens to me. Although it might be because I had my 17 year old daughter with me…
Hope you feel better soon!
It’s amazing what the power of Coke products can do, isn’t it? I hope you get some good rest this weekend and feel much better by Monday.
Had no idea Old Navy had skirts on sale. I’d totally wear one of those tiered skirts. You can’t beat $15! Well, maybe you can…but I am too lazy to go out and shop for a better deal than that.
I have a question/comment about the tunics. I have spent half of the past ten years in maternity shirts. Is it just me or should I be paranoid that people will start whispering about me if I’m wearing one? I don’t have a nice flat tummy by any stretch of the imagination and just feel that while they’re really cute they also really look like maternity shirts!
I thought you gave up diet coke awhile ago?
Diet Coke?
Go to the pharmacy and ask for Mucinex D (in the red box) it will change your live. I was feeling just like you last week.
What is about the weather changing this time of year that makes our heads explode over and over and over? I hope you feel better soon. Oh and I love the embroidered Mexican tops too!
I live about 1 mile from the outlet mall, which has both Old Navy and Banana Republic. And since the snow is almost gone and it has rained for 40 days and 40 nights (well, almost) I need something colorful to brighten up my day! I see a new outfit in my future. Thanks for the info.
Is Route 44 Diet Coke different from regular diet coke? Is this some kind of only-in-Texas flavor? Or am I just reading too much into things?
I’m totally digging the shoes for spring! Can’t wait to buy me some!
Feel better soon!
Love that rosette necklace. There is no way I could pull off that tiered skirt, but I have found some other great skirts that I love from Old Navy. I’m so glad ON has changed its line over the last year. I had fallen out of love with them, but the love affair is back on. They have redeemed themselves.
Sorry you’re feeling so miserable – hopefully you can get out and enjoy the lovely weather! We’re just glad our snow has melted up here in northern Illinois!!!!
LOVE the Mexican tunics!! And the knit dress at the end IS pretty and would be so lovely on you! Hope you feel better really soon! Praying for you, friend!
BTW, those sandals? I love them. They are pretty. But those kind always hurt between my big and second toe. It has always made me sad.
Such pretty dresses! Too bad I’ll be nursing all summer (and never mind the fact that my budget has no room in it for Nordstrom). I have purchased 4 of the tiered skirts from Old Navy though, not all the slub ones, but skirts. I <3 skirts.
Sick, and yet you take time to fulfill our fashion-news needs. What a blogger!
(Get well soon….SPRING BREAK TIME!)
You don’t think that lace top will just kinda hang? I want to see it on a human. I think you should buy and and model it for us.
We have been the same here. I remember when we were considering our move to San Antonio, the recruiter told us there weren’t allergies. Oh to get my hands on that person. It is the lovely blend of allergies and the humidity, and unfortunately there is little to be done about the humidity pressure. I’ve been popping one benadryl and one excedrin migraine like they were candy this week.
Feel better soon.
Oh, do you know a good tailor? I have just found my perfect jean and have been buying them online when I find them on sale with no regards to length. So, I need a good tailor.
It is my suspicion that both Diet Coke and Cinnamon Toast Crunch have secret addicting ingredients in them that get you hooked. Everyone I have ever known to drink Diet Coke (I don’t) seems to be addicted to it! And the Costco-sized box of CTC says it serves 41, but my 4 kids go through one in a week! My 20-month-old eats seconds and thirds!!! I think something’s afoot! =) Thank you for soldiering on, though, Fashion Maven! Hope you feel better soon!
Just ordered the brown mexican tunic while drinking a fully leaded Coke and eating peanut m&ms. I am a madwoman. Who would ever put an overweight 50-year-old in that top? I’ll be mailing it to you as soon as it arrives and I view my folly in a full-length mirror. The end.
OK. I was good until I clicked on the tunic and the mannequin freaked me out a bit.
Feel better soon.
I love white pants! I have a pair of white capris that I wear with a navy blue and white stripe top, and red flats. My husband says he wants to pledge allegiance to me, but I think it’s adorable.
Oh, pooh. This was supposed to go on JoLynne’s post.
Drat.
I bought one of those pins, I loved it so much!
I just bought the slub skirt from old navy on wednesday in gray, I might have to go back and get a few more colors. So glad the fashion side of your brain has not been affected by the Thyphoid watch. Get well soon.
You have hit the big time!
My work place computer blocks your blog!!!!
I still have to check out how Caroline and company are doing, make sure I am aware of the fashions “DON’TS” and follow any road trips but now I have to wait until I am home.
I am a lover of cardigans, and this one is particularly adorable. Thanks for sharing even though you’d rather drug yourself and go to bed. Hope you feel better soon!
Wow, you posted lots of good stuff for someone who feels so lousy….go lie down on the couch and watch a good movie and let P. pamper you. Hahaha.
Get better soon!
Did you see the Target sandals come in a similar style for little girls? I saw them the other day.
Typhoid Watch 2010… girl, I love it.
We could so totally be related.
I could I just find your blog? Great blog! Can’t wait to visit again. Hope you are feeling better and enjoy a break.
Peace.
