If you’re looking for the Fashion Fiesta, click HERE and it will take you to the post with all the links!!
Okay, like I mentioned in last week’s Fashion Friday, I thought it would be fun to see what y’all have in your closets.
What do you wear on a daily basis? What’s your uniform? What piece of clothing can you not live without?
I want to see it all.
If you are concerned that bearing the contents of your closet will cause the internet to have to lift your fashion sense up in prayer, that’s okay. We are all one in the spirit of fashion and God isn’t afraid of a challenge.
In fact, I had long been envisioning a chocolate brown, wedge-heeled, sling-back shoe in my head. I knew I must have these shoes. The only problem was I hadn’t actually seen them anywhere. They were just an urban shoe legend.
Then, I saw the shoes I had been dreaming of at Steve Madden but, alas, they were $80.00. I spent the next few days in turmoil over whether I could justify such a purchase.
About a week later, I went to DSW Shoe Warehouse on a completely unrelated matter and there were my beloved shoes. On sale for $39.99. God is faithful and just to provide wedge heels in our time of need.
Which leads me to my next point about the Spring Fashion Fiesta.
What are the dreams you have for your closet? What piece of clothing or pair of shoes would you love to own? Is it a certain pair of jeans or an entire outfit?
We want to see it.
We want to see it all.
And, on Friday, I hope you’ll join in and show it to us.
I’ll have a Mr. Linky up at midnight, Friday April 11th. You can enter the direct link to your Fiesta post.
And for an added bonus, I’m going to draw a random number on Monday, the 14th. The winner will receive a free blog header design from Jules (and she has a waiting list, so you may have to wait just a little while).
Also, feel free to go here to get the code for the festive button that Jules designed to spread the word on your blog.
Que’ Divertido!
That means “WHAT FUN”!
Or not.
I really don’t know.
Viva Fiesta!
That means “Long Live the Party” or maybe “Paper Towel Party”.
Either way works.

You know, this could be sort of… nerve wracking.
On all sides.
And quite entertaining, at the same time.

That sounds like fun! I’ll post when it’s up.
I know this may sound awful to other SAHMS, but I actually get semi-dressed up on a daily basis, even though I’m “only” home with the kids. I find when I look good, I feel better. So I even do the make-up thing in the morning.
It’s only the kids who see me, but I like feeling professional. Why should women who work outside the home get all the fun?

I have no idea what I want to wear this summer - I’m fresh out of maternity clothes and my old stuff seems … old. So party on, I’ll watch from the sidelines and copy your ideas.

I’m in. I’ll start taking pictures of the fun things I want in my wardrobe this summer.
I’m just glad you’re not asking me to actually show pictures of what is currently hanging in my closet.
That would take the move of God in my life now wouldn’t it?

maybe by then i can buy a new digi camera, since ours “needs a healing” and also buy a new wardrobe. or…i can figure out how to cut and paste t-shirts and jeans from my very exclusive suppliers. i am sure the cyber world will be on pins and needles waiting.
and to think i used to be so~fashion forward.

I cant wait to do this! BUT my wardrobe is not exciting one bit but in my mind I am very fashionable so a “pretend” summer wardrobe I can come up with. I think I will include some plus size do’s and dont’s because us ladies on the plumper side need a whole other set of rules and I guess the memo wasn’t sent out because there are far too many wearing clothes they shouldn’t

Dear BigMama, I have a bone to pick with you. You, who were troubled by buying your 80 dollar chocolate wedge heel, but didn’t hesitate to put up a link to the gorgeous sandals from Nordstrom’s that cost 85.00 and I saw and I HAD TO BUY. You can’t put those links up lightly. There are consequnces, and I had to somehow justify to my husband (and myself)how I could possibly spend that much on a pair of sandals.(Yes, their picture is on my blog because they are gorgeous.)
Obviously, I can’t stand up to your powers of persuasion. Just please don’t tell me you’re having meatlaof for dinner. I don’t like it.

*GULP* Not sure if ya’ll are up for this. Or me for that matter. I just went through my closet and threw out 3/4 of it for various reasons. Now I’m scared. But I would sooo love a blog header from Jules that I’m willing to offer myself up as a living example to you all of what NOT to wear. **double GULP**

BigMama I thought I was the only one that dreamed up urban shoe and apparel legends! I do this all the time and it is quite frustrating.
I am loving the idea of the Fashion Fiesta!!! So fun. I think I will do a little of both: pics of current items I can’t wait to wear that are in my closet now, and items I am longing for.

I bought shoes kind of like that, except I was limping from pain because they squeezed my toes too much. Still haven’t figured out if the pain is worth fashionista status because they are cute (and were only $7.00)!

I thought about going to my really trendy neighbor’s house and showing you what’s in her size zero closet and pretending that it was my closet. Then I realized that was probably a blogging dishonesty feaux pas.
Then I happily realized that if I really showed you what was in my closet, you might turn me into TLC’s What Not to Wear and Stacy and Clinton will show up on my doorstep with a visa card with my name on it and $5000 to go shopping with, as long as I follow their rules.
I could use the $5000. I also would like for you all to think I’m a size zero and wear the cutest clothes on earth.
Such a conundrum.

I just have to say that I had no idea that this many women had their own blogs. I feel so old and technologically challenged. If you had made the prize a guaranteed visit from Stacy & Clinton with the $5000 Visa Card, I would have stayed up all night designing & broadcasting my own blog. Since I have been losing weight, I could literally fit everything I own that fits in one snapshot. Thank God for Target. (That brings me to another topic. I’m taking the kids to Schlitterbahn this weekend, and had to buy a bathing suit last night, so I wouldn’t flash harmless children with my two-sizes too big suit. It seems that no matter how much weight you lose, a bathing suit paints a different picture. What we do for our children!)
By the way, Indiana Keetha gets my vote. It is not just anyone that can pull off BLUE HAIR. Loved it!!!!
