  • Episode twelve: The Big Boo Cast; Now with even more random

    May 7, 2008

Oh do y’all have a treat in store for you within this podcast.

In fact, just the memory of it makes me warm and happy.

Let’s just say that I knew Travis was talented because he does stuff like sing with the London Symphony and record at Abbey Road, but I have never been more impressed than I was in the middle of this podcast.

We also have an extensive discussion in which we troubleshoot our audio. It is riveting.

And there is some discussion of American Idol.

    And Nascar.

    We are very well-rounded.

Episode eleven: The Big Boo Cast

    March 24, 2008

I know, I know. You’re thinking we just did a podcast but, no, that was about eight weeks ago. It just seems like yesterday.

Anyway, we’ve actually recorded a few other podcasts, but they were either extremely boring or had sound issues or both. My personal favorite of the podcasts that will never see the light of day is the one where Boomama and I actually answered questions for Travis the way we thought he would answer them.

I bet he would have loved that one, too.

We feel fortunate to have Frydaddy joining us again. We weren’t sure his busy schedule would allow him to be back, not to mention an unfortunate trip to Puerto Rico where he almost met his untimely demise in the form of severe stomach flu.

But, here we are, back again. As usual we cover topics ranging from musical influences to shoes to March Madness. I’m sure you’ll be enthralled.

    Episode 10: Big Boo Cast

    February 2, 2008

I’m a little late getting this up because we spent our day at the rodeo. I currently smell like a goat and may possibly have horse poop on my boots. And cotton candy in my hair.

But here it is. Our much anticipated podcast with Travis Cottrell. I have no idea of all the information contained therein because, as usual, Boomama did all the editing. All I contribute to the podcast is my voice and my name.

Much like James Earl Jones on CNN.

Except without the stellar vocal stylings and major network.

Travis was more than delightful. He put up with all our ramblings and vast technical difficulties and for that we are grateful. We were a little worried about whether or not his voice would translate well to a recording because he really doesn’t have the experience we do.

Unless you count that whole musical career thing.

Anyway, y’all will love listening to how he and Angela met. It will make you say “Awww.” I promise.

Have fun listening and stay tuned because we’ll be back with more of Travis in the future.

    Some terribly exciting podcast developments

    January 24, 2008

Since Boomama and I are officially back in the podcast business after a six week or so hiatus, we were looking for something new, fresh and interesting to cast on the pod.

I know it’s hard for y’all to wrap your mind around what could be more entertaining than the two of us talking about our hair, our love for chips and queso, and what’s on sale at Old Navy at great length.

    But here’s the answer.

Travis Cottrell has agreed to be a special guest star on the podcast, which means we’ll actually have a star on the podcast as opposed to two mamas who talk about their hair, our love for chips and queso and what’s on sale at Old Navy.

I, for one, really believe this could be the beginning of big things for Travis.

Rumor has it he may even become a semi-regular correspondent to discuss American Idol.

Anyway, what we want to do is give y’all the opportunity to ask him any question that may be keeping you up at night. Send it to Boomama or me by email because we don’t want him to see the questions ahead of time.

We’ll do the podcast some time next week. We’re trying to figure out my schedule because I am very busy recording new music in the studio.

Oh wait, maybe it’s Travis that’s very busy recording in the studio. Either way, VERY BUSY.

    But it will happen. SOON.

    So send us your questions.

The Big Boo Cast, Episode 9

    January 21, 2008

Oh and I bet some of y’all thought the podcast was a thing of the past just because we haven’t done one since Thanksgiving.

But here it is. And while I don’t remember everything we talked about, I do know that the phrase “tooth apparatus” was used.

If that isn’t enough to make you want to listen, then I don’t know what is.

    Episode 8: BigBoo Cast

    December 9, 2007

So part of the reason that, until Friday afternoon, I believed Sophie to be some sort of internet wizard is because she is in charge of all the editing and writing of code for the BigBoo Cast.

And if it were up to me the BigBoo Cast would never have been a reality because HELLO, LOOK AT MY AQUA TEMPLATE.

But as I told Sophie just a little while ago, I believe she actually did me a huge favor. It has caused me to re-evaluate my entire blog template situation. It’s like it says in Proverbs, “As iron sharpens iron, so does one friend sharpen another friend’s blog template” or something along those lines.

Anyway, here is yet another podcast. That is two weeks in a row that we have rambled endlessly for y’alls enjoyment or at least your perseverance.

This time we discuss who we would like to have over for dinner. And while I don’t want to give away who I would choose, let’s just say my choice is MAY-JAH.

It also gives us some illusion of coolness after we shamelessly admit the songs that are most frequently played on our iTunes.

    Here you go.

    Episode 7: Big Boo Cast

    December 1, 2007

Oh yes my friends, your eyes do not deceive you. This is the post that heralds the long awaited (by at least three people) return of the Big Boo Cast.

I’m sure y’all are thinking this episode will be full of all kinds of interesting things since it’s been over a month since the last one, however, you would be wrong. In all honesty, I’m not even sure what we talked about, but it would probably be a safe bet that the subject of our hair comes up and also, food.

    Happy listening.

And as always, leave your questions in the comments. We are obviously in need of some material.

    Episode 6: Big Boo Cast

    October 20, 2007

Have there been 6 podcasts already? Because it seems as if there have been 12. And in reality, there have been 12. However, only 6 have had enough mediocre content to broadcast, or podcast, or whatever.

Caroline enjoyed her taste of the spotlight last time and as soon as she saw my microphone, she geared up for another performance. She even set aside her Oreos and if that isn’t broadcast dedication, I don’t know what is.

Alex also made his debut performance and is just as shy and quiet as his mama.

Other than that, we discuss how we met our husbands and pregnancy. In that order.

    Y’all have a great weekend!

The big boo cast, episode 4

    September 21, 2007

Tune in as we cover more of life’s most serious issues, including the embarrassing fact that I may be somewhat of a stage mother when it comes to Halloween costume contests.

Which is only slightly better than buying an N’Sync Concert DVD when you’re 30.

It promises to be loads of fun and when it’s all over, there will be no doubt that we are Southern girls through and through.
