8-14-08
Just go read this
If this doesn’t inspire you, then I can’t help you. Thanks to Jen at Conversion Diary for the link.
8-13-08
Love this coat. Love the price.
8-11-08
Someone sent me this link and I just loved this post full of ideas on how to make the first day of school a success. We’re headed to the library tomorrow to pick up a few of these books.
My friend Jen passed on this link to me. It’s a blog written by a news anchor who’s at the Olympics. I like checking in every day.
8-5-08
Today’s the last day and they have some incredible deals.

Woven shoulder bag from Banana Republic
I have a large crush on this bag right now.

7-30-08
I received my Boden catalog in the mail yesterday and oh these made me happy.
But not as happy as these. I adore these and can picture a thousand outfits, or at least four, that they would complete.
7-29-08
Love the necklace, love the price.
7-28-08
I love everything Angie writes, but I was especially moved by this post.
My sister-in-law sent me this link on Friday and they have some really cute kids’ clothes on sale.
7-24-08
Y’all know I have a weakness for CWDKids. I am in love with this outfit for Caroline. Truth be told, I’d wear that skirt if it came in my size. Also, check out the CWDKids blog, Kidbits, for sale and coupon information.
7-23-08
JavisDavis Fabric Collections for Girls
I am dying to get new bedding made for Caroline’s room using one of these fabric collections. I don’t know how I’ll choose. I adore them all.
I think these are so cute and they have a bunch of different styles and color schemes.
7-22-08
Tiny Prints Birthday Invitations
These are the invitations I ordered for Caroline’s birthday party. I just love them because they are simple, girly, and reasonably priced. And since she’s decided she wants to have a Barbie Island Princess party with a Cheetah pinata, it’s hard to find an invitation that encompasses all of that.
I found Tiny Prints about a year ago and love all their designs. They really do have some of the cutest stuff.
This was my first-ever school lunchbox and apparently now retails for $179.50. Needless to say, I won’t be buying it, but just seeing it brings back memories.
7-21-08

I received my fall Pottery Barn catalog in the mail yesterday and this is just one of about 100 things that I love.
Then, I looked through Pottery Barn Teen (unfortunately I didn’t receive my Pottery Barn Senior Citizen) and saw this darling duvet cover. It is in serious contention to be part of Caroline’s new bedroom decor.
7-15-08
This isn’t like my usual favorite things stuff, but I found this article through DeeDee at FiddleDeeDee and haven’t quit thinking about it since I read it.
7-10-08
BR is having a huge sale right now.
7-9-08

7-7-08
Tyler Candles in Mediterranean Fig
For years I have been a huge fan of Trapp candles, especially Mediterranean Fig. Then the other day I noticed that Tyler Candles now have a Mediterranean Fig AND it’s half the price of the Trapp candles. Just as good, if not better.
I don’t know how short this actually is so I may not wear it is a dress, but I bet it would look cute with leggings or jeans.
There is some great, great stuff on sale at Boden at really good prices.
7-2-08
She Got Up Off the Couch by Haven Kimmel
I just finished reading this book. It’s the follow up to A Girl Named Zippy, which I read last summer and adored. I liked this one just as much, if not more. Best of all, it’s on sale at Amazon for $5.00.
7-1-08
I may use some of these this week because they can be done in the air-conditioning.
6-30-08
I’m not saying it’s my favorite thing, it’s the name of a book that Kay Arthur recommended during her talk on Saturday. I am absolutely going to go buy it today.
6-26-08
This is a genius idea. It’s a site where you can look for churches in your area that are recommended by members of those churches. They answer questions about childcare, type of preaching, style of worship, and, most importantly, let’s you know if you can wear jeans. Go look for a church or add yours to the list.
6-25-08
Shannon and Sophie posted their notes from the She Speaks Conference. Go check them out if you’re interested.
They have a ton of cute stuff on sale right now.
6-24-08
I adore this outfit, plus they have free shipping until the end of June. Unfortunately, it’s not nearly flashy enough for Caroline’s taste.
Pottery Barn Kids has these adorable beach wraps on sale right now. I love this one with the whales.
6-21-08
Kelly at Kelly’s Korner has some awesome news. Honestly, nothing could make me happier this morning.
6-18-08
I think this is the best idea for little kids. It’s a series of cute stuffed animals that will help them learn Bible verses. Each one is named after a different fruit of the spirit from Galations 5:22. Plus, they’re having a summer special right now and they’re only $12.99.
Head on over to Carolina Mama’s blog for a chance to win great stuff every Wednesday. This week she has a JJ jewelry holder by Janie. I have one and I can no longer live without it.
6-17-08
Dishwashing Gloves
I would wash more things by hand if I had these.

I love these and they’re on sale for $14.50.
6-13-08
Y’all know I’m a huge fan of CWD Kids and all their great clothes for kids. They have a new blog and now through June 15th, they’re offering the chance to win a $300 CWD Kids gift certificate. So head over there and leave a comment so you’ll be entered to win. That’s a lot of back to school clothing money!
6-12-08
Gap has a ton of really cute summer shirts on sale right now.
I have spent the last few years trying other candles, but recently returned to my first candle love. I just adore it.
6-10-08
If you have a mother, then this will make you laugh.
Must. Have. One.
6-9-08
I have officially fallen in love with this necklace and it would match everything in my closet.
It’s the best of Andy Bernard. Priceless.
6-5-08
I don’t know what it is but there is something about these pears that I love.
As soon as I’ve recovered from vacation and we finish our eggs, I think we may spend a morning making these. It’s all part of my summer of crafts initiative.
I don’t really drink coffee unless I go to Starbucks and purchase it. But if I did, I’d buy one of these mugs. In silver, of course.
5-29-08
About the cutest coverup for the money that I’ve seen. I’ll be wearing mine to the pool every day this summer.
Nordstrom Half-Yearly shoe sale
Oh, there is some serious shoe greatness on sale right now.
5-28-08
I know they’re pricey, but Pottery Barn has the best beach towels.
It’s just so cute.
5-27-08
There’s no way I could fit all my makeup in one of these, but I think it would be cute to throw in your purse.
My sister’s husband’s cousin works at Michaels (did you follow that?) and she told me about their summer craft ideas for kids. It’s called The Knack and you can check it out for fun stuff to do this summer if you are like me and have instituted a SUMMER OF CRAFTS initiative.
5-22-08
Regal Cinemas Free Family Film Festival
Oh how I love an air conditioned summer activity!
Tiny Prints Birthday Invitations

5-21-08
For those of y’all who are fans of the Chickie, they are now available in some great new colors.
I have some bud vases and I love when P brings in fresh cut roses to put in them. I think this monogrammed version would be a great wedding gift.
5-20-08
Clearly I am late to the Kirtsy party, but I am now addicted.
I’ll use these all summer long.
5-19-08
This is seriously too cute.
Or how about one of these to hold your laptop?
I don’t really need a clipboard, but these make me want one.
5-15-08
Love this purse for summertime.
I was looking for a charm for Caroline and found this cross. I just really like it.
5-14-08
Perfect for the beach or the pool.
This would be great for summer get-togethers.
5-13-08
Barb at A Chelsea Morning has always made the cutest handmade gifts for her family and friends. She has opened a little online shop so that the rest of us non-crafty types can purchase the fabulous stuff she makes. I particularly love the sock monkeys.
5-12-08
This site has the coolest toys, but I really love this butterfly push toy. Caroline would have loved it when she was just a little bit younger.
I really like this because it’s so easy to just pull on. Plus it comes in a lot of different colors and patterns.
5-8-08
Speaking of the 80’s. Love this watch for the summer.
I’d probably wear it as a swimsuit coverup.
5-7-08
I am loving the giraffe print this spring.
Cute, cute, cute.
And while we’re looking at stuff from Banana, how much do you love these earrings?
5-6-08

Y’all know that I love Dave Barnes. His new music video for “Until You” is featured in MTVU’s “The Freshmen” this week. The way the show works is that the online public gets to vote for which one of five competing videos will be added to MTVU’s regular rotation. We would love it if that video is “Until You.”
Voting begins TODAY Monday, May 5th at 11am EST and ends on Friday, May 9th at 12pm EST. The best part is that you can vote as many times as you want! Also, you can see how Dave’s video is doing after you vote. It takes only a few seconds to do so and it is very easy to vote multiple times. SO GO VOTE FOR DAVE!
5-5-08
Oh sure. I could buy the ugly green bags at HEB, but if I’m going to be environmentally friendly then I’m going to do it with some style.
Banana Republic has some really cute dresses on sale right now. Including one with pink polka dots that I can’t find on the website but is in their stores right now.
5-1-08
50% off sale ends today.
Love this top.
4-29-08
Gulley’s been looking for a fun t-shirt. I think I will recommend this one.
And I’ll get this one for myself.
I’m totally kidding by the way. On both of them. But they do have some cool t-shirts.
4-28-08
If you’re looking for beautiful clothes for your daughter, this is the place. And the site itself it beautiful, too.
4-25-08
Compassion has an awesome campaign going on right now. Go here to read more about Bite Back. It’s a great way to make a big difference.
4-24-08
I could use some kid-friendly bowls in my kitchen these days.
Love these.
4-23-08
I really want to redecorate Caroline’s room using some of these colors. I think this print would look adorable in there.
This just looks like summer to me.
4-22-08
My friend Donna sent me this and it is so incredible. It is more than worth your time to watch it.
4-21-08
I love this idea. A cute scrapbook that doesn’t require me to do any actual craft-type things.
Somebody linked to this site during the Fashion Fiesta and I love these t-shirts.
4-17-08
I know I’ve mentioned this lotion once or a hundred times, but it is truly one of the beauty products I cannot live without. The best thing is that if you want to visit a real, live lavender farm you can make plans to attend the Blanco Lavender Festival on June 14th and 15th.
4-16-08
I watched this movie with Caroline the other day and I promise you I liked it more than she did. Loved it.
I tried on this dress yesterday and I adore it. It would be the perfect summer dress to wear with flip-flops to go casual or with a wedge heel to go out to dinner.
4-15-08
Dave Barnes “Me and You and the World”
I cannot overstate how much I adore Dave Barnes and his music. Click on his name and you can buy the new album on iTunes.
This site has some of the cutest things I have ever seen. And that is saying something because I have seen a lot of cute in my life.
4-14-08
Gulley’s mama had this book at her house this weekend and it blew my mind. I am buying my own copy today because I have been DEAD WRONG about some of my food choices. And I did not want to know that the Cheese Fries at Outback Steakhouse contain 2900 calories.
4-10-08
I love these. In any color. They are shoe greatness.
I have nowhere to put these, but I think they’re so cute.
This would be a great summer dress or even a swimsuit coverup.
4-9-08
I just bought these a few days ago and am loving them. Plus, they are on sale in Gap stores.
Thursday nights are good again. My world is at peace.
4-8-08
Because I do love a leopard print anything.
Have I mentioned this before? I can’t remember. Either way, here it is because I love it.
4-7-08
This just cracked me up. Then, to make it even better, yesterday morning at church our pastor was talking about some buses with DVD players and a lady a few rows back exclaimed, “OH MY HEAVENS!”. Because we had seen this the night before, it caused P and I to laugh inappropriately for several minutes.
4-3-08
Forever 21 has some really cute jewelry right now for low, low prices.
Oh the green! Oh the zebra! I triple heart these.
4-2-08
I’d love this for Caroline or for myself if it came in my size.
I’ve been waiting for weeks for these shirts to go on sale at Gap because no way was I paying $49.50. And in the store they are actually on sale for $24.99.
It just makes me happy.
4-1-08
Check out the top 100 April Fool’s jokes of all time.
The lovely Amy Beth has a great contest going on in honor of her 100th post. Go over there for a chance to win some girly stuff.
3-31-08
I think this is so cute. I don’t know what I’d do with it, but I like it.
A dear friend gave me this book as a gift last week and I read it in one day. Loved it.
3-28-08
Shannon sent me this link and I adore it. It has made me laugh out loud.
My dear friends AJ and Jennifer are headed to Africa this summer to work on an incredible book project. Go check it out. It’s awesome.
3-26-08
Cute for summer.
I have a dress this would look so great with.
3-25-08
I think these are kind of cool. If I had a place to hang them in my kitchen, I’d love to have them.
Love these.
I know it’s a little soon to be thinking about bathing suits, but I saw this one today and love it. I’ve bought Aerin Rose swimsuits for the past few years and love how they fit because you can order them in real bra sizes. You can see all her suits here.
3-24-08
A few weeks ago, the people at Giftventure offered to send me an Easter giftventure for Caroline. I thought it sounded fun, so I said sure. I had no idea how much Caroline would love it.
She received three letters from the Easter Bunny that each had a puzzle she needed to solve or hidden eggs that she needed to find in a picture, then the last letter described a hiding place (that I had filled in on my order form) where she would find a special present. She loved it.
What I loved was how beautiful the letters were. Each one had gorgeous illustrations and intricate detail.
They have giftventures for every occasion. It would be a great thing to do for a birthday. I highly recommend it, plus they have giftventures based on your child’s age and interests. Go check it out.
3-21-08
Absolutely beautiful.
3-20-08
I saw these across a crowded shoes department at Dillard’s yesterday and it was love at first sight. We are meant to be together. If only they would go on sale for 75% off. We’d be together forever.
Great post by Sister Lynn Marie.
3-19-08
I wrote this post for his birthday last year on this day and it’s still one of my favorites. Happy Birthday PaPa. You are missed.
Here are some great recipes for Easter brunch.
What Happens When Women Say Yes to God by Lysa Terkeurst
Awesome book for just about any woman I know.
3-18-08
Joel Sartore is an award-winning National Geographic photographer and a father of three. In this awesome book he shares his secrets for getting the best photos of your family. And, since I need all the help I can get, I loved it.
He starts with the basics steps of how to use your camera and then goes on to give tips on composition, lighting and backgrounds. My favorite part is the section on how to actually edit the photos with software once you have them. It’s a great book for anyone who likes to take pictures.
It contains some truly great photos and a quote that I love and will keep in mind. “It’s the pictures of the kids crying that remind us what is was like to be a parent with young children. They’re entertaining, and they’re emotional. And that’s what a good photograph is: It is a picture with good light, a clean background, and some emotion.”
Not that I’m going to make Caroline start crying for pictures, but it reminds me to catch all the moments, even the ones that aren’t quite as pretty.
3-17-08
So, I didn’t know all this stuff.
Yeah baby.
3-14-08
This made me happy last night.
3-13-08
I realize it’s a little early for the 4th of July, but it will be in the 90’s here by the end of the week so, close enough. Anyway, these outfits are darling.
Maybe it’s because Easter is next week, but I am really into yellow right now.
The Other Gulley mentioned these tanks to me because we have exchanged a few emails related to fashion related topics. I went to J.Crew today a little skeptical about the greatness of this tank, because, really, aren’t all tanks created equally? The answer is no. I love the way this fits.
3-12-08
So these don’t really go with my life right now, but they sure are cute.
Don’t forget about St. Patrick’s Day.
3-11-08
I love some BravoTV. The new season of Top Chef starts Wednesday and I can’t wait. It’s second only to Project Runway in my reality television viewing heart.
On sale at Banana Republic. And between geometric print and shift dress, you couldn’t be more in for spring.
J.Crew’s kids site is having a final winter sale. They still have some pretty cute stuff left.
3-10-08
Kelly Corrigan “The Middle Place”
Gulley’s sister, also known as the Other Gulley, sent me the link to Kelly Corrigan’s website. I haven’t read her book yet, but after watching the video excerpts and hearing her read a few sections aloud, I am heading to Borders first thing tomorrow morning. I haven’t been this excited to read a book in a long time.
3-9-08
Trista’s hosting a spring clean event over at her blog. I’d love to spring clean, but I just don’t feel like it. But if you do, then head on over. To my house.
3-7-08
Boomama introduced me to the music of Dave Barnes and I will be forever grateful. I adore his music. It’s like springtime wrapped in a CD. And speaking of CD’s, his new CD “Me & You & The World” will be released on April 1st. You can go here to pre-order two CD’s and a DVD for $15.00. No kidding. So, seriously, find a friend who is willing to shell out $7.50 and split the cost. Then when it arrives y’all can arm wrestle to see who gets the DVD. Or you could just share it. Whatever.
In the meantime, you can download his new single “Until You” on iTunes. It’s pretty much my new favorite song.
P and I love this commercial because we both have a slight clown phobia.
3-6-08
Love these cute Easter eggs. They’d look great in my glass vases on my dining room table.
3-5-08
If you love pretty things, you will love this magazine whether you live in the South or not.
Oh my goodness, I like to just go look at these fabrics and think of all the fabulous things I could do with them. If I could sew or something.
Well, he would look darling in Caroline’s Easter basket.
3-3-08
Tiny Prints Birth Announcements and stationery
I am not in the market for birth announcements, but if I were I would order these. I ordered my Christmas cards last year from Tiny Prints and loved them. They have a lot of cute stuff.
This purse totally reminds me of 7th grade and I love it. Although, it’s not necessarily practical for my life these days. No way would it hold a juice box.
Because I can never get enough of Paula.
2-29-08
Apple Dumplings by Pioneer Woman
I don’t know that I’ve ever loved anything that isn’t chocolate as much as I loved these. I made them last night and I cannot even describe how good they are. Best of all, the hardest part of the entire recipe was peeling two whole apples.
2-28-08
Well, this just looks delightful.
Caroline wore this outfit for her first Easter and it’s still one of my all time favorites.
I just found this site the other day because we have worn Noggin out.
Beth at A Mom’s Life is starting a new blog feature called Miracle Monday. Go here to read all the details.
2-27-08
Great as a summer shirt or as a cover up.
These are just summer fun wrapped up in a shoe.
Oh y’all know how I love a good tote.
2-26-08
I love this. And, if I decide I’m feeling crafty, I may try to make one myself.
The Company Store has Easter stuff on sale.
I adore these swimsuits for little girls. This one in particular sums up Caroline’s fashion sensibilities.
Over coffee on Monday morning, Gulley said, “Why don’t you find some cute Easter outfits for my boys? And remember, Jackson won’t wear anything with pink.” So, here you have it. Best of all, the romper goes up to a 4T AND there is no pink. Plus, they’ll totally work for the 4th of July.
2-25-08
Really cute.
I don’t think it’s a coincidence that they start with the lovely Jennifer Garner.
I adore this stuff. And if I had anywhere in my house to use it, I totally would. They have so many great selections, including the kids’ line that I linked to. This would be so great in a playroom because you cannot ruin it. If grape juice spills, wipe it right off. That’s amazing.
2-21-08
Have I mentioned it’s the best show on T.V.?
This is a great shirt for spring and summer.
Just in case Steve Jobs is wondering what I’d like for St. Patricks Day.
2-20-08
I know one of these days we’ll take Caroline to Disney World. This is a great place to find good inside information from real moms who have been there and know the system.
This looks like the perfect thing to throw on with flip-flops for the summer.
And speaking of flip-flops, how cute are these? Plus, if you buy 2 or more you get 20% off. It’s like they’re paying you to buy cute shoes.
2-19-08
Y’all know how I love a good bag. And I love some pink stripes.
I love the swimsuits at Boden.
I love this shirt. Maybe it would look good with those cork shoes from Payless.
2-18-08
Hooray for Presidents Day. Bath towels at ridiculously low prices!
I don’t know what I’d wear with these, but they intrigue me. Plus, it’s BOGO time at Payless.
2-15-08
As many of y’all know, Sophie and Shannon are in Uganda right now. Their stories have made me cry more than once. Here’s something we can do. Consider sponsoring one of these precious children. I chose a little girl who is the same age as Caroline. I can watch as they both grow up with bright futures ahead of them. It’s $32.00 a month. I can think of a lot of frivolous things I’d spend that money on.
2-13-08
I received a couple of their products in the mail last week and they haven’t left Caroline’s head since. The leopard print headband with the rhinestone buckle has become a huge favorite and if I thought it would fit me, I’d wear it myself. It’s darling!
Plus, I love their clips. Caroline’s hair is so fine that it’s hard to find a clip that will actually hold her bangs back and these really work and they couldn’t be cuter!
Rebecca was nice enough to send Caroline a Barefoot Book and it has become one of our nighttime favorites. The pictures are bright and so colorful, plus the story is entertaining. Best of all, they are currently having a winter sale. If you’re looking for some good books for your kids, this is a great place to start!
2-12-08
Sophie and Shannon are in Uganda as I write this. Remember to keep them and their team in your prayers this week. And if you want to keep up with the adventure, click read to follow all the various blog posts.
2-11-08
I like the Smooth Cashmere because, well, you can’t ever go wrong with cashmere. Seriously, this is one of the best truly clear deodorants ever. I love it.
These are the cutest shirts and they are on sale in Old Navy stores. Plus, all spring kids stuff is 40% off right now. T-shirts and tanks are only $4.00. It’s a great time to stock up on summer basics.
I think this shirt would be perfect for spring.
2-7-08
I’ve been thinking of easy to read chapter books that Caroline might like read to her before bed at night. It made me remember my old friend, Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle. Oh, I loved these books.
This site has a ton of cute crafts and fun card ideas.
I love this necklace.
Because it’s been at least a week since I had something from Anthropologie on my favorites and because I heart this shirt.
2-6-08
He makes the rodeo so much fun. This is an article that was written about him in Texas Monthly about five years ago. He is a legend.
This is a great post by Shannon. It’s something we should all keep in mind as we read our favorite blogs.
My sister-in-law told me about this site. They have some really cute kids clothes and are having a huge sale on their fall/winter things.
2-5-08
I saw these in the window at Banana Republic today and thought they were so cheery and fun.
This shirt is on sale at Gap right now and it is so cute. I tried it on today and almost bought it until I remembered that I’m trying to not spend money on myself.
These girls flip-flops are on sale 2 for $12.00. And they’re so shiny!
2-4-08
Last week, Boomama told me about Dave Barnes. It is the gift that has kept on giving. This Youtube video had me doubled over with laughter. It is some serious funny.
I love these shoes. Plus, the ankle strap is removable. I love versatility in a shoe.
This bag is so cute. And Boden is currently offering 10% off and free shipping, which doesn’t mean I can buy this bag, but it makes me think about it a little harder.
2-1-08
If I had a boy, I would have to buy him this. Unless he was 16.
I love these. They also have a version of it with cut glass.
Because a coverup is a good thing. And this one is a good price.
1-31-08
Because I needed a little Scrantonicity.
Caroline and I will definitely be making our version of these. But with glitter.
1-30-08
I love these cute little notecards.
I can just see Caroline in this sweet little dress. Although she would want to wear a leopard print scarf and some bumblebee rainboots with it.
I believe I have mentioned my love of coats and jackets of all kinds. I was in Target today and fell in love with this one.
1-29-08
One of my favorite things in my house is my hallway filled with old pictures. Pottery Barn has a great link on how to create display walls.
My dear friend Amy G. let Caroline borrow this book and audio cd just in time for Valentine’s Day. It is darling!
Caroline might need these for the rodeo. She would lose her mind over light up boots.
I’m always so drawn to these shirts and they look great as long as you don’t actually move around in them.
1-28-08
The nice people at Mabel’s Labels sent me a few of their cute labels to try out and let me just say that I love them. They stick to everything and have endured multiple washes in the dishwasher. I only wish I’d had them back when we had to take a sippy cup everywhere we went. I love them. The clothing labels would be perfect for a kid that’s heading off to summer camp.
I don’t know that Caroline would wear a wool beret, but if I thought she would I’d want to order her this one.
In honor of Zach Morris who roamed the halls of Bayside High while talking on his large cellular phone.
Valentine’s Day crafts and ideas
Some cute ideas.
1-25-08
I’ve been looking for some earrings like these.
Antique Mommy has started a new design blog. Go on over and check it out.

These remind me of something I wore when I was little. I may have to get them for Caroline.
Valentines pajamas
These crack me up.
It’s about time for us to break out the doilies and the glitter.
1-23-08
Jerry O’ Connell is my new hero
After watching the Top Gun star in his odd video that surfaced last week, this parody just cracked me up.
Some of these made me laugh out loud.
Not that I’ve cooked any time in recent memory, but this site has some great recipes.
1-22-08
These would be so cute for spring.
Cookware that would make me happy
It’s funny of ten years of cooking seems to really make your pots and pans not seem as attractive. One of these days I’d love to do an upgrade.
I can’t just pick one thing off this site, but if you have a girl, let me just say OH MY at the cuteness.
My dear friend, Amy G., loaned us this book from her vast collection and oh my goodness, it is a huge hit at our house.
I think Tina Fey is hysterical and I will be waiting in line to see this movie on April 18.

Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory
Oh my. Holly from Crown Laid Down sent me a box of the most wonderful assortment of sinfulness as a reward for answering a trivia question correctly on her blog. Who knew that it would pay off all these years later to remember that the medical facility at A&M is called The Quack Shack?
For the record, chocolate covered oreos are divine. And chocolate covered graham crackers? Fabulous.
Thanks Holly!
I love these in the red and white.
Yet something else from Anthropologie
I think I have a thing for bags right now.
1-17-08
I went to a home show featuring these clothes today. They are even cuter than they look in the pictures.
This site has a lot of great information and tips about how to keep your kids safe. It’s worth checking out.
1-16-08
Ruffled shirt
The spring clothes are really getting to me. Love this shirt.
You can’t go wrong with these shoes. Any of them will do.
1-15-08
Y’all will notice that all of today’s favorites come from the Boden website because I got their spring catalog yesterday, and the entire contents are basically my favorite.
Who cares that it hasn’t really rained since early fall? This jacket would make me wish for rain at least once a week.
Just makes me happy.
It’s just a little piece of spring goodness.
These are so pretty they almost make me forget that I never really like myself in flats.
1-14-08
Love these pajamas. Just in time for Valentine’s Day.
If you’re watching Comanche Moon and haven’t watched this, then do yourself a favor and watch it. It’s the best Western of all time.
This little dress with some flip-flops would make me so happy this summer.
1-11-08
While I will never discuss politics here, P’s mom sent me this link. You can answer the questions and it will tell you the candidate who most closely stands for your views. It’s definitely more fun than watching the endless coverage of the primaries.
Oh, I do love this show. And I love to get Tim Gunn’s take on each episode.
1-10-08
If I had money to just blow on a cute coverup for the summer, this is what I’d blow it on. And if it were a little longer, I’d just buy it and wear it as a dress.
I love the pattern on this and it’s on sale!
If you’re going to drink hot chocolate, this is the one to get. I love to mix a half cup of this with a half cup of coffee. It’s the best thing in the world on a cold morning…other than staying in bed.
1-9-08
It rained yesterday for the first time in awhile and made me realize I’ve lost my umbrella. Look at this one!
Make sure you get yours before Valentine’s Day. It’s just another good reason to make iced sugar cookies.
I think this is so pretty.
1-8-08
I’m seem to be focused on cute shoes right now.
This quote is why I love Paula Deen.
The whole site has so many great things, but I especially love these dishes.
1-7-08
Last year, Gulley read the Bible in a year and it’s inspired me to do the same thing this year. I know there are tons of ways to do this, but I found this guide that will email me my chapters for the day in chronological order.
I do not need another jacket, coat, or anything of the like. Oh, but if I did, I really like this one.
Because it’s in Anthropologie’s spring catalog and I would be remiss to not point it out.
It is some kind of cute.
1-4-08
I have mild rosacea and during the cold, dry months, my face tends to get a little red. I love this moisturizer by Aveeno. It really does calm my skin down, plus it has an spf 15 built in.
I love this product. I don’t use it as much as I used to, but when I’ve used it on a daily basis it has made my hair feel thicker and grow faster. It’s a miracle worker.
If you have an adolescent boy in your home, he will think this is hysterical. Which means that I have a sense of humor very similar to an adolescent boy.
1-3-08
Oh sure. I know it’s freezing outside, but these are so cute. I’m putting them on my spring wishlist.
I’m full of love for J. Crew today. Look how cute this laptop case is! It would make my Mac and I very happy.
The website says these are 19.99 but I just bought them in the store and they were just 11.00. Caroline loves them.
If you don’t have one of these, then your life isn’t as complete as it could be. Which may be an overstatment, but still I love this measuring cup.
12-31-07
How cute is this Christmas tree skirt? Plus, it’s on sale.
This is the best way to listen to music online. You can type in the name of an artist you like and it creates a playlist of songs that have a similar sound. You can create as many stations as you want and find some great new music.
These are so cute and they are on sale.
Best New Year’s Eve scene EVER
Because I am a big sentimental fool.
12-28-07
I saw this over at Heather’s at OMSH. I’m not sure who likes it more, Caroline or me. Either way, it’s a little bit addictive.
I know there are a million things on sale right now, but I saw this in the new catalog and love it.
Because it’s the greatest thing that never really happened on Dick Clark’s Rockin’ New Years Eve.
12-27-07
Mathew and Solange Knowles (Beyonce’s father and sister) have launched a super-cute, totally hip new toy line. Dubbed “Baby Jamz,” this musical toy line is the first ever hip-hop/rhthym-inspired preschool toy line that promotes learning, creativity, and movement through music.
Some nice people sent me this CD for me to review right before the holidays. I knew I would probably like it because what’s not to like about hip-hop preschool music? And it did not disappoint. We love it and it’s been in constant rotation ever since.
If you’re looking for something fun to listen to with your kids, I highly recommend Baby Jamz. It will be money well spent!
Several of y’all have emailed and asked about good places to eat while you’re in town for the Alamo Bowl. This is the best barbecue ever.
And if you’re looking for some good Mexican food downtown, then this is the place.
12-26-07
‘Tis the season for sales, starting with this pretty bracelet in green. I love it.
Christmas Cards 50% off at Kate’s Paperie
I’ve actually been to Kate’s Paperie in New York. It will make you love paper in a way you never knew was possible.
12-24-07
Anthropologie Ornaments ON SALE
P and I did a little window shopping last night and what to my wondering eyes did appear but Christmas ornaments on sale at Anthropologie. They are just so cute.
I may have to buy these for myself for a little after-Christmas present.
I love this makeup. It is the best stuff ever.
Because don’t we all have a Cousin Eddie?
12-22-07
Design your own ugly Christmas sweater
The nice person over at Apathy Lounge sent me this link and trust me, you will become addicted to designing your own hideous creations full of dancing reindeer and Santas and wreaths. It’s a Christmas treasure.
12-21-07
If you can watch this without laughing then something is wrong with you. Seriously, something is wrong.
Don’t we all want a hippopotamus for Christmas?
I saw this on Dooce yesterday and it made me smile. Caroline has made me listen to it no less than 148 times. In the last 5 minutes.
Because you never know when someone may have an emergency such as looking terrible. Plus, it lights up.
Did y’all know you can get your M&M’s customized? Well, you totally can.
12-20-07
I just discovered this decorating blog and ohmygoodness at the fabulousness. It is full of beautiful things and great ideas.
I have a weakness for anything monogrammed. These would make a great gift for the person who has everything or even the person who just has a cold drink and a coffee table that gets rings on it.
12-19-07
Allrecipes has some great printable cookbooks. If you’re looking for some new holiday cookie recipes, look no further.
I’m in desperate need of new sheets for our bed. My favorite set is just about beyond salvageable. I love these because they are so soft and make you feel like you’re sleeping on a cloud.
While I would certainly never spend this on one ornament, I think this is just beautiful.
12-18-07
Y’all can guarantee we’ll be tracking Santa’s flight path. Even if your kids are older, it’s a fun thing to do.
Mine came in the mail yesterday and it’s even prettier in person. Seriously, if I could take pictures I would totally do a calendar like this. All I’m lacking is the talent.
Oh how I love these boots.
This is the best site for finding fun stuff to do and, trust me, with the Christmas holidays arriving, we’re all going to need a little dose of creativity.
12-17-07
Veronica at Toddled Dredge wrote an absolutely beautiful post yesterday for the third Sunday in Advent. If you haven’t read it, you’re missing out.
I found this site through Jamie at Fully Operational Battle Station. Her friend Wendy makes the most amazing jewelry and other cool stuff. Y’all have got to go check it out. I bet you won’t be able to pick just one thing.
Well, it was inevitable that the writer’s strike would lead me down this path. I was channel surfing on Saturday night and discovered Run’s House. And combine my love of Run DMC with my love of reality television, and well, it’s a win-win situation.
Did I mention the first episode I watched had an etiquette coach teaching them the proper way to eat Buffalo Wings? That is quality television viewing.
Somehow about half of the dinner forks from my flatware have disappeared. I suspect that they may have gotten thrown in the trash with paper plates over the last ten years. So, as soon as I’m totally forkless, this is the flatware I want.
12-14-07
I have a magnetic chalkboard by my backdoor that would be so happy to have these magnets take up residence.
Love this. And it’s on sale.
Straight up, old school cold medicine. I accept no imitations.
12-13-07
This site has some of the cutest kids clothes. I especially love this dress because it looks like Caroline to me. Of course, she’d wear some purple mardi gras beads with it.
I don’t know what it says about me, but I am strangely drawn to these dolls.
Although, Caroline would probably prefer this one. And I have to agree, she’s pretty cute.

Proverbs and Principles for Parenting Practically Perfect Progeny by Jean Stockdale
Sweet Jean sent me this workbook and DVD study on how to effectively parent your child. It has been such a blessing to me and I’ve learned so many practical things along the way. I know y’all would enjoy Jean’s humor and wisdom as she encourages young moms in the pursuit of parenting good kids.
And she should know, she has two grown sons who have turned out better than good. There is no better teacher than a voice with experience. If you’re looking for a great study for the new year, this may be just the thing.
I have this thing with coats. I love them. I love everything about them.
It’s a shame I live where the weather is 80 degrees in December. But still, isn’t this like a ray of sunshine on a cloudy day?
I ordered my Christmas cards from them this year and I can’t tell you how pleased I was with both the product and the service. They have the cutest designs and they do more than just Christmas cards.
Because I love me some Matt Damon as a tough guy.
12-11-07
How cute are these snowflake plates and mugs? And they are ON SALE.
Ten years ago when I got married, I didn’t know much about cookware because I didn’t really cook. Now I wish I had been smart enough to register for one of these. And also, some other really great cookware. Youth and wedding registries are wasted on the young.
The Container Store has the best giftwrap. If you’ve never tried it, you are missing out.

This post by Jen at Lots of Scotts
It made me cry this morning and sums up so many of my feelings as I watch Caroline grow older by the day.
Okay, so I don’t know if I like these as much as I just like the name. However, P and I always pick a cold December evening to walk around and window shop at Christmas time. Maybe this year I’ll get us these and we can call each other “Schmoopy” and make other shoppers a little queasy at all the sweetness.
The other night I needed tomato sauce but all I had was tomato paste. This site came in very handy and saved me a trip to HEB. So, basically, it’s internet gold.
I love to hang pictures of Caroline on the tree. I adore these ornament picture frames.
I bought this angel last year right after Christmas. She looks so pretty with all my Christmas decor. Check out all the pretty stuff that Jim Shore does. I especially like the Holy Family tree ornament. So sweet.

Kathryn at Daring Young Mom has written a post asking for help for the victims of the devastating flood in Washington. You can find out here what you can do to help.

Here’s a great idea to help you experience rest this holiday season…
Nancy McGuirk, author of the new devotional, Rest Assured, is giving away a Rest Assured Weekend Getaway at The Cove. Her book helps women rest by taking God at His Word. Plus, Nancy is offering the chance to win a weekend experience of rest in 2008 at the Billy Graham Training Center at The Cove in Asheville, NC. The prize package includes a relaxing weekend for two with exceptional food, lodging, and a 3-day seminar with your choice of noted Christian speaker, such as Chip Ingram, Gary Chapman, or Tony Evans.
Nancy’s book, Rest Assured, and the Weekend Getaway make great gift ideas for busy friends and family. Anyone can register by clicking here. No purchase is necessary, and the winner will be announced on December 15th. Don’t wait, register today!
When our roses are blooming, P always brings in fresh cut flowers. I’d love these little jewel-toned vases to put them in.
Is anything more festive than a armored animal that has been known to spread leprosy?
If you are one of the millions of people who can’t get enough soup, then go check out Boomama’s soup-tacular and get yourself some good recipes. Because y’all know what they say, soup is good food. Which is not at all biased coming from a company that makes soup.
12-6-07
Y’all have got to go check out Lisa’s custom jewelry at Beadelectable. She made me this necklace.
The picture doesn’t do it justice. It is gorgeous and I get compliments on it all the time. Go check out all her beautiful, reasonably priced things.
Because, really, what’s better than letting your kids know that Santa is watching. This site has some cute Northpole activities and other fun stuff that’s worth checking out.
I’m just a huge fan of a monogrammed tote. It’s so much classier than a plastic Target sack.
I would love to order one of these in the pale blue with a chocolate brown monogram. But that may just be me.
12-5-07
One of these with red dots would make my hot chocolate taste so much better.
Look how cool these twig letters are. You can buy them by the individual letter or in words such as Peace or Home. Which are really two of the nicest words in the world.
I love all this jewelry but I particularly like the bracelets.
12-4-07
If y’all want to have some fun and maybe win some cool prizes, go check out the contests going on at Lysa Terkeurst’s blog. You can read all about it here.
After I put the little girls clogs in my favorites last week, Gulley mentioned she wished she could buy a pair in her size. Well, here they are.
I only have two crystal ornaments on my tree, but I would love to have a few more because they are so pretty when they catch the light. Of course they are hanging at the very top, way out of reach of little hands. I think this snowflake is gorgeous.
12-3-07
I had forgotten all about this book until I saw it at Lifeway this weekend. This was the Christmas Story that I remember as a child with beautiful illustrations by Eloise Wilkins. It brought me back to childhood and so I had to buy it for Caroline. We’ve already read it about twenty times.
The Night Before Christmas Pop-Up Book
And if you’re looking for a fun Christmas book, this one is great. It’s a pop-up version of The Night Before Christmas and has incredible pop-up features.
Check out this calendar by Kris-10’s Creations. I love all her stuff but this calendar is just the greatest. Look around her site and you will find some great gift ideas and maybe even some darling stuff for yourself.
11-30-07
Remember the Friends episode where Monica had a plan for jam to get over her man? If any jam could help you through life’s troubles, it would be this jam. I’m not even necessarily a fan of cherries, but this is just a little piece of fruity heaven. Plus, check out all their other stuff. It’s a great gift basket to send someone for Christmas.
Gap has the cutest flannel pajama pants on sale for $12.99. I bought a few pairs of these last year and I adore them. Check out the ones with the penguins. I could sop them up with a biscuit.
I love these boots. They just look like they are the foot equivalent of a mug of hot chocolate with extra marshmallows.
11-29-07
I saw these in my James Avery catalog and I think they are so pretty.
If Caroline didn’t run everywhere she goes, I would totally want her to have a little pair of clogs like these.
How adorable is this cake stand and cover? I could just give it a hug.
11-28-07
The JJ
The JJ is the greatest invention that has ever been made for the female traveler. Well, other than suitcases with wheels.
I got mine last week and it is the best jewelry keeper I have ever seen. It keeps all your earrings and necklaces in perfect order and has a cute little zipper pouch in the middle section. It would make a great Christmas gift for you or someone you love who happens to love jewelry. Plus, check out all the cute fabrics they come in!
And speaking of great gifts, I have made no secret of my love for Hummingbird Farms lavender products. This time of year, their lotion is the only thing that keeps my hands from drying out. It’s the perfect gift because who doesn’t love smelling like lavender and having soft hands? If such a person exists, I don’t want to know about it.
11-27-07
Santa will definitely be bringing this to Caroline this year. If you have a little one who’s on the verge of reading, it’s the perfect gift.
Oh, this scarf would look so cute with my ivory velvet peacoat. Don’t worry, it’s not real giraffe.
11-26-07
I just love this little apron. It would look too cute on Caroline as we do all our holiday baking.
How cute is this little ornament?
After extensive research I can tell y’all that this is THE BEST peppermint bark. One year after Christmas, P found it on sale for 50% off and bought four tins of it.
I won’t embarrass either of us by telling y’all how quickly it was gone.
11-22-07
As God is my witness, I thought turkeys could fly.
11-21-07
If you’re like me and haven’t ordered your Christmas cards yet, you might want to check these out. I think they are so cute.
This one isn’t as cute as the one I saw in the store, but it gets the point across. I’m dying to get one of these wooden advent calendars. In fact, I may have to go back to Target tomorrow to get the one I saw.
And while I’m at Target, I may have to buy the coat. I saw it yesterday and it is so much cuter in person than it is in this picture.
11-20-07
I am not always a fan of the ballet flat, but I love these with the cableknit sweater detail.
I am just dying to add some blues and pinks to my tree this year. Not that I’ll actually do it, but I like the idea of it.
11-19-07
Normally, wrap dresses don’t work that well for me, but I love this one. I tried it on and it is just so cute and now it is on sale and calling my name.
11-16-07
Because it’s almost Thanksgiving
I wonder what would taste worse, Rachel’s trifle or my gingersnap cookies made with rancid Crisco?
11-15-07
I know I link to Old Navy all the time, but I was in there yesterday and fell in love with this cashmere hoodie. Personally, I have a hard time paying $70.00 for something from Old Navy, but if this baby goes on sale, it’s all mine.
Gulley actually told me about this site earlier in the week. It has a ton of great educational activities for kids and is a nice alternative to Noggin. There are only so many times I can watch Diego try to catch dinosaur eggs from a helicopter.
11-14-07
This tin nativity set from Target is so pretty, plus it’s a great price.
Or how about this one? I just love the colors.
Christmas gift tags
Or maybe you just want some cute gift tags. I love these!
11-13-07
Oh, I know. We don’t really need diaper cream around here anymore, but we used to. And when we needed it, nothing worked better than Dr. Smith’s. It saved us from diaper rash heartache many a time. Plus, it clears up existing rashes unbelievably fast.
Cutey-cute Christmas stockings
Okay, so that’s not their real name, but it should be. I adore these. I am search of the perfect Christmas stockings that I can purchase on sale after the big day. These are definitely in the running.
11-12-07
P bought me one of these bracelets a few years ago. Now, for every occasion, he takes Caroline shopping and they pick out a few new charms for my bracelet. I love it because they all have a special meaning, plus it looks pretty.
In case y’all didn’t know, Old Navy has all their outerwear on sale for 40% off for one week only. Considering the temperatures here this week will be in the high 80’s, I’m thrilled to only pay $20.00 for Caroline to have a winter coat that she may or may not end up needing.
11-9-07
I love to have some clear glass ornaments on my tree because they look so pretty reflecting the light from the tree. I really like these.
I don’t really need another vase, but I just like the way this one looks with all those cool dots.
11-8-07
I just bought two of these long-sleeve t-shirts from Gap. They’re on sale for $15.00, incredibly soft, and come in just about any color you need.
I bought this exact same robe last year on sale right after Christmas. It is the softest, most comfortable thing I own. I have even been known to sleep with it on when the weather is really cold.
And in case you were wondering, mine is the light aqua color with the white heart. However, I do adore the hot pink with the polka-dots.
11-7-07
It’s hard for me to spend money on a winter coat because who knows if I’ll even get the chance to wear it. This one from Old Navy is a great deal and I think the red is just darling.
Caroline has inherited a love of looking at maps from her father. There is no way that I can say she gets this from me because I haven’t looked at a map since 1993. However, she and her daddy love to look at our Atlas. I think this might be the perfect gift if you have a little knowledge seeker in your home.
11-6-07
I love this cookbook stand. It would be so much prettier than the rubberband I currently use to hold my cookbooks open to the right page.
The amber glass reminds me of my grandmother’s house, but more than anything I would just like
