A little pre-holiday treat

November 10, 2008

A few weeks ago the nice people at CWDKids emailed me and asked me if I’d like to give my readers a chance to win a $100 gift certificate.

Umm, yeah.

Then they asked me if I could start the giveaway on Monday, November 10th. A quick look at my calendar told me that would be the Monday after I got home from the Dominican. I figured I would be emotionally and physically exhausted.

Turns out I was right.

I hate to admit it publicly, but the laundry has beat me. I have one pair of jeans in particular that probably never should have come back to U.S. soil.

But enough about my problems.

This is your big moment. You have a chance to win a $100.00 gift certificate from CWDKids. All you have to do is go visit their site by clicking here or on the graphic above, then come back and leave me a comment about which outfit you loved.

Because I like to share with the group, I will tell you that I particularly love this outfit and also this outfit. And, oh what I wouldn’t give for Caroline to have this nightgown for Christmas morning because, HELLO, flashback to my 1970′s childhood.

I’ll leave comments open until Friday evening and pick the winner on Saturday morning using my friend the Random Number generator.

Have fun!

Hello. I’m new to your blog via pioneerwoman and I love it! I’m in Australia so not sure if I’m eligable to win your giveaway but just thought I’d comment anyway. I love the print dress ANITA G for little girls.

I’ve loved reading about your recent trip, just wonderful and very inspiring. I’m now the proud sponsor of a little child in Uganda, thanks to your site.

All the best, from down under!

I would love to put my girl in that plaid jumper outfit.

And the sparkly ballet flats would make her little heart sing…

3 Kim November 10, 2008 at 5:57 am

Either of my nieces would adore the Pretty As A Peacock floral print dress OR the top with leggings. Oh.My.Word! such cute clothes. Makes me miss the days when I had a little girl to buy for. This is a good website to keep in mind for when I have grandbabies down the road. Shopping from South America is easy-peasy on the internet :-)

4 Brantlee November 10, 2008 at 6:20 am

I love the holiday print long sleeve shirts. The girls dresses are so cute too.
Welcome home. I’ve enjoyed reading about your mission trip.

5 Jenni November 10, 2008 at 6:22 am

I would do a Christmas shirt combo for my three boys … maybe the plaid collared shirts or three polos in red and green.

I’ve been glued to your blogs on Compassion. My eyes have been opened. I’ve just never trusted that my money would go where I wanted it to go, but, with Compassion, I can tell that it is the real deal. Thanks for sharing.

6 Angela November 10, 2008 at 6:23 am

I sure would like to see my sweet little princess in that plaid ruffle gown on Christmas morning!

I love the candy print dress. I can see my 5 year old in it!

10 Leslie November 10, 2008 at 6:31 am

My 4 year old is fanatical about dogs, so she would go nuts over the Beam Me Up Scottie set. Too cute!

11 Michelle November 10, 2008 at 6:33 am

I really like the Guitar Tee, the cargo shorts or pants, and the lizard style short johns for my little guy. Thanks for the giveaway!

12 Dirkey November 10, 2008 at 6:42 am

I would love the girls holiday dress in red and white for my great-niece and the boys holiday blake shirt for her twin my great-nephew. My niece is in the navy and my husband and I will be taking in her twin one year olds in a few weeks. Having Christmas outfits for them already would make things that much easier!

13 Laura November 10, 2008 at 6:43 am

21 Kelly @ The Feathered Nest November 10, 2008 at 7:02 am

Love the dove Christmas t-shirt. It is so hard to find holiday clothing they can wear to school on dress down days (it’s a Christian school- no santa allowed).

Would LOVE to win the $100, so I could go ahead and order the tee, and a few other things, too!

Thanks for sharing:-)

22 Wanda November 10, 2008 at 7:03 am

23 emily November 10, 2008 at 7:08 am

Thanks for the opportunity.

29 Renee November 10, 2008 at 7:22 am

I’ve never had any “mommy and me” things for my daughter and I, but the matching holiday nightgowns would be a lot of fun! What beautiful clothes!

I just recently found your blog (through Pioneer Woman) when reading about Marlboro Man’s trip. It is so encouraging to know that so many of you went on this trip and shared your experiences with THOUSANDS of people through your blogs! Thank you! I’m sure the lives of many children will be changed as new sponsors sign up.

30 Mel Black November 10, 2008 at 7:26 am

OK, here’s what I’m thinking……..
$100 = 4 Dream Weaver pj sets = great Christmas card pic

31 Southern Gal November 10, 2008 at 7:26 am

I have a 6-year-old who loves to go to church in a blazer, shirt and tie. So, the blazer would be a must for church. The big logo Polos with Cargos would be my casual pick. Plus, I love the cotton pajamas for boy.

There you have it. My THREE favorite outfits!

32 Sarah November 10, 2008 at 7:29 am

43 Stefani November 10, 2008 at 7:39 am

48 Phillips Phamily Mama November 10, 2008 at 7:46 am

Clearly you can’t go wrong with Ralph Lauren! I love the Tartan Plaid Ruffle Dress, and at $90, that gift certificate would just cover it!

49 Stacey in Texas November 10, 2008 at 7:46 am

Aww, love the hearts cord skirt .. could see my granddaughter wearing that one! :)

50 Dena November 10, 2008 at 7:48 am

My kids used to practically live in CWD clothing. I remember making the phone call asking them to stop sending catalogs because my kids have now all out grown their clothes. I was so sad.

51 Mrs. H November 10, 2008 at 7:48 am

Since my daughter is just over the moon about horses, I’d have to choose the horse raincoat. She would love that!

52 Lisa November 10, 2008 at 7:49 am

53 LoneButterfly November 10, 2008 at 7:51 am

I have two older boys (8 & 6) and I’m due with my first baby girl in February – so I would love outfits from the Brother/Sister page.

59 Andrea November 10, 2008 at 7:56 am

My favorite for my daughter would be one of the Christmas knit dresses.

60 The Beaver Bunch November 10, 2008 at 7:56 am

I love the babydoll sweaters for my girls and that Peter Pan-esque pirate ship sweater for my boys. I have a feeling that anything “horsie” would also be a hit at my house. Somehow, my people are easier to dress (meaning I don’t endure a crocodile death roll) if their clothes have something interesting plastered all over them.

Glad the trip was a blessing.

61 Beth November 10, 2008 at 7:57 am

My favorite was the black velvet dress with the bubble sleeves.

62 Jana Kelley November 10, 2008 at 7:57 am

67 Theresa November 10, 2008 at 8:01 am

I like the print dresses by Anita G.

68 melanie dawn November 10, 2008 at 8:02 am

Well, the horse raincoat, obviously. I can’t believe we’ve lived this long without one.

72 Tiffany November 10, 2008 at 8:06 am

My brown eyed girl would look adorable in the Metallic Dots Tunic Top and leggings! The flower velour top is super cute, too, but I can’t imagine paying $49 for one shirt for a 7-year-old!

And BTW, I have been love, love, loving your blog about DR. You are an awesome writer and our weird sense of humor is similar (“fat girl wants her camera back” almost had me spewing juice all over the computer screen) Thanks!!

99 Holli November 10, 2008 at 8:35 am

I LOVE the holly dog tee. That would be so cute on my boys. It reminds me of our yellow lab.

Thanks!

100 Robyn November 10, 2008 at 8:36 am

I love the empire waisted dresses that are worn with leggins. I have a daughter with a little more “fluff” in the belly area and those dresses fit her very well.
And the gown you chose takes me back to 1979 when I would only wear gowns that would twirl well. It looks like a good twirler.

I am in love with the Corduroy Pajama and Book for boys!

Holly T.

Okay, I love Birds of a Feather Flock together (the dress), but I’m not picky!

I though it was hilarious that you chose “Let It Snow” for Caroline because, not a whole lot of snow goes on down there, eh? It’s spitting snow here, so live vicariously, I suppose.

Thanks! Glad to know that you are back! Dawn dishwashing detergent may bring your pants back from Dominican soil. Excited to hear more stories!

105 Rachel November 10, 2008 at 8:40 am

Such cute things. I think I would have to get the boys long johns in the pattern Twas the Night Before and then the cute little ruffle jamies in pink and red strips. Every year we get all the kids and us new pajamas and on Christmas eve we open our new pjs and get to wear them to bed and wake up on Christmas in new clothes. It’s a lot of fun.

190 Sarah at themommylogues November 10, 2008 at 9:29 am

My 3 yr old fashionista saw me looking at the site and climbed up on my lap. “Oh, I like that dress. And that one with candy corn. And that one with a kitty.” And she basically listed off every dress on the site. Then she said she wished they came in mommy’s size too. To list one specifically, I’ll say the Flapdoodles tie dye dress with leggings. I hope Mr. Random Integer picks me, because the mini-fashionista would have a hey day shopping.

Do I have to pick ONE favorite??!!!! For my boys I guess the Long Sleeve Crewneck Tee by RL and for my daughter definitely the Tarten Dress by RL – so vogue!!!!

Thanks for having such a great blog that CWKids wants to give away a $100 gc :)

283 Sarah P November 10, 2008 at 10:51 am

The Wild Pirate zip pullovers are too cute. My boys would be so styling in those. What a fun contest. Thanks!

284 Melanie November 10, 2008 at 10:52 am

Feeling groovy dress or Baby Lulu for my niece.

286 Sunni November 10, 2008 at 10:54 am

The penguin dress would be so cute on the girl with the red penguin shirts on the boys. I’m looking for something cute for Christmas photos…..(Fingers crossed) Maybe I’ll win!

287 Shelby November 10, 2008 at 10:55 am

I am totally in love with the Pinkalicious PJs! I was actually planning to buy that book for my “girly” four year old this Christmas. Hmmm….I may have to talk the husband into letting me get this combo!

By the way, I love your blog! We sponsor a Compassion child and reading about your trip has been such an inspiration.

288 Lavonda November 10, 2008 at 10:57 am

It’s all adorable! I’d love to have any of it for my little girlie.
Thanks for the opportunity!

289 Debbie November 10, 2008 at 10:58 am

290 Andrea November 10, 2008 at 10:58 am

My daughter would do flips for anything from the Horse line. In fact, I’ve been eyeballing a few pieces for Christmas (like this: http://www.cwdkids.com/servlet/quagga/specials/product.jsp/_qprm_/browse?groupId=18848&itemId=J113&cat=specials-girls_fall). One of the first things I’d buy with the $100 is the lunchbox! She’d be excited for MONTHS!! :)

303 Bev Brandon November 10, 2008 at 11:11 am

#300 right here…oh well, all it takes is one to win, right? I liked the holiday pj’s like striped and dotted ones cause I think it’s fun for little ones to open their presents on Christmas morn in their pj’s cause who can wait to get dressed? I so wish I lived in your town. I’d be right over to do your laundry, no kidding!

I love that they have Corduroy pajammies(as my little boy would say) with the Corduroy book! That is such a fun idea!

307 abby goeirg November 10, 2008 at 11:20 am

Do you know that Target doesn’t sell boys holiday t’s. Cause what, little boys don’t celebrate the holidays or what. Do their mom’s not want to dress them in cute christmas t-shirts. Geez. As a new mother to a boy and a long time mother of a girl, I’m so boy offended by this. Lucky for me I could stock up on some boys t-shirts (the dog and wreath, so cute!) and hopefully have a little change left over for all the adorable girls clothes!!

308 Pat November 10, 2008 at 11:20 am

I love the Happy Holly Dog tee for the boys! Very cute.

309 Jodie November 10, 2008 at 11:22 am

It’s not easy choosing for 3! For my girl, I think I’d get the pink sequin shoes and for my two boys, I think I’d go with the plaid pajamas. They’d be so cute! :)

Obviously I love too much of it. I also was blessed by reading about your Compassion trip.

312 Superchikk November 10, 2008 at 11:29 am

I think it would be easier to list the things I wasn’t in love with, because everything is adorable.

My most favorite was the boys’ zip-up argyle sweater. LOVE IT! And the close second are the vintage Star Wars & Indiana Jones T-shirts. Husband would buy those for the boy in a heartbeat if he saw them!

318 Dee from L.A. November 10, 2008 at 11:34 am

I’ve been looking at the “On the Fringe” outfit for my 7 year old. She loves her boots. What girl doesn’t love boots? Anyways, this outfit is just another girl excuse to bring out those boots.

BTW, I almost sprayed painted her black boots red for her Wonder Women costume. She was also Wonder Women. I’m soo glad I didn’t. The package came with the red boot covers, which fitted perfectly over her very own black boots.

Take care and welcome back!

319 Michele November 10, 2008 at 11:38 am

I’m thinking the Robot cotton pajamas are cute but that’s being conservative as I’m sure my 4 year old would not appreciate me putting him in a dog sweater. Boys and stuffy sweaters don’t mix well. Everything is so cute, so hard to decide.

Before I start on the outfits, can I just say that your blog is quite possibly the lifeline to what’s left of my sanity? Seriously. Staying at home with my party-animal preschoolers is lovely, but there are moments when I need a break. Usually, my fellow messy-shirt sisters are busy with their own finger painting crew. Those are the moments when your blog (along with some fabulous others) have given me a laugh and the perspective that I need to carry on. Thanks.
All of the printed tee shirts are super cute. And the little girls pink suede boots are sweet, yet cool enough for my fashionista two-year old.
