BareMinerals Eyeshadow Giveaway

**Please note that this post was originally posted here. All entries via comments here will be pooled with those entries.  No duplicate entries, please.**

So, I turned forty in August. I know. But it’s weird, because forty doesn’t feel like I thought it would. Especially when I was in my twenties and believed forty was some ancient age that came with a minivan and elastic waistband pants.

I think part of the reason forty seems okay is because forty looks a lot different than it used to. When I look around at all the women I know, I tend to think the ones that are the most beautiful are the ones in their forties. Maybe it’s because we’ve quit trying so hard and grown comfortable in our own skin. It’s no longer about what pleases others, but about what makes us feel beautiful.

Pretty is a state of mind, but beauty is a force. True beauty is accepting the wrinkles that have come with time and making them work. It’s not focusing on our imperfections, but learning to appreciate what we have and go with it. Even though there are days I don’t like what I see in the mirror or those new lines around my mouth, I’ve come to accept it’s part of who I am, and there’s no point in making myself miserable over things I can’t change.

I mean, technically, I guess I could change those lines with Botox but that seems like it might be painful. So I’ll take the new lines and appreciate them because real beauty is a life filled with a lot of laughter, and that’s why I have those lines in the first place. Well, that and fading collagen production.

But y’all know I am always on the lookout for a great new product. Which is why I was so excited to have the chance to review the new bareMinerals READYTM Eyeshadow 2.0. They sent me The Epiphany duo and even though the colors are a little more dramatic than I normally wear, I loved the rich texture and the way it lasted all day. It goes on super easy and allows me to create equally good looks for daytime or evening depending on how I blend the colors.

And speaking of blending colors and application, check out these great tutorial videos they’ve put together. I love them.

The best part is you have a chance to win a bareMinerals READYTM Eyeshadow 2.0 by sharing your thoughts and opinions about how you define a force of beauty, in the comments section of this post.

I think beauty is a mix of working with (and not against) what you are naturally given and taking confidence in all the pieces that make you up, regardless of what others think.

  2. says

I think it’s so great that the definition of what is beautiful really has evolved in the last 20 years or so. Yeah us!

  3. Sue says

I think everyone can enhance their natural beauty with a little effort and know-how. It’s worth it to be the best you can be.

  4. julie says

Comparison is probably one of the most destructive things we can do to ourselves. Keep looking for things to be thankful for. A little nice make-up doesn’t hurt either.

  5. says

It’s usually when I try to hardest to “look pretty” and keep up with all of those airbrushed magazine covers that I look my worst. Beauty is when my husband tells me he loves me, bedhead and no make up – and thinks I am beautiful anyway. My wrinkles and gray hair come from my kids – who I couldn’t be more grateful for.

  6. Pam says

I think true beauty is being able to accept yourself – the gifts talents
    That God has given you

  7. Marian Baldock says

When I am in a good place mentally, (thankful, prayed up, peaceful) I feel good about myself. If I fall into the trap of comparing myself to others around me, it sucks the good things away.

  8. says

Beauty is being confident in the way you are – because you are always striving for the best. Like, making the best cookies when the boys walk in the door. Or hauling wood with my hubby with a smile. That’s beauty.

Eye colors that last all day? To a girl who wears colors like “granite” and “charcoal” that sound superb. :)

A woman who knows who she is in Christ has a beauty that indeed is a force to be reckoned with.

I couldn’t agree with you more about the 40something club. I’m more comfortable in my own skin now than I ever was. That said, I know my flaws well. Most of them, as you said, I just can’t do anything about. The eyebrow abuse–that’s a different story altogether.

  10. Kat Sparks says

I feel that beauty is when I am in bed on Saturday moring with my husband and children in bed with me enjoying time together as a family. I feel most beautiful then. Even with morning breath and no make up on.

  11. Kelly says

Now, while I am girly enough to love me some products, the women I find most beautiful are the ones that show a controlled strength, as well as grace, that I believe God blessed women to naturally possess.

  12. Tina Renee says

A Force of Beauty is beautiful on the inside as well as the outside. She is confident in her own skin & kind to others!

  14. Leigh Anne Hedges says

I just started using Bare Minerals in October and I LOVE it! Can’t wait to try their eyeshadow.

  15. Heather Crawley says

I love Bare Minerals, but didn’t care for their eye shadow options and have been using my Clinque eye shadow instead. This is a great option. Can’t wait to get my hands on a set.

  16. Jennifer says

Real beauty comes from contentment…with who you are and what you believe.
I love Bare Minerals. Thanks for the chance to win!

  17. says

Beauty is the inner confidence to go with what you’ve got and smile from the inside out. I didn’t really get it until I had my baby girl–totally redefines what is important and what is beautiful.

  18. Deanna says

I believe that true beauty is rooted in authenticity and humility. And in a quality Beth Moore calls humble confidence…knowing that she can do all things through Christ who strengthens her, but apart from Him she is nothing.

  19. Liberty Hudson says

Never tried the eyeshadow but if it as great as their foundation-it must be wonderful! The foundation gives me just that little boost of confidence and makes me feel fixed up for the day.

  20. bamacurl says

I recently attended a seminar with 7 other women. I loved that no matter our differences (where we lived, industry we worked in, age, physical appearance) everyone respected and listened to each other. I found beauty in each of them, how they had transformed themselves, but were confident enough to strip everything away and connect with each other. And, from 2 of the younger attendees…I learned that I need to improve my eye shadow technique!

  21. Jen P. says

Beauty is knowing who you are and being totally okay with it! It is all about rocking what you do have and using your best traits to your advantage!!

  22. Krysia says

Beauty is being comfortable with who God created you to be…and sharing that with others. It comes from the heart!

  23. Deb says

What looks good to one may not look good to another……… do whatever makes “you” feel GOOD!

  24. Monica says

Obviously beauty is something that attracts people. But if you are able to find someone’s inner beauty and the gifts they have to share…you have discovered flawless, impeccable beauty!

  25. Melissa says

I use Bare Minerals daily but I haven’t got a chance to try their new eye shadow yet. This would be perfect for me!

  26. Brenda says

The true force of beauty comes from within and is God-given. May the force be with you.
    New International Version, I Peter 3:4 –
Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.

  27. says

I think being beautiful on the inside, is just as important as being beautiful on the outside! But, I also think that a little make-up can only help for the outside 😉

  28. Kelly Sites says

I think beauty is someone who is beautiful on the outside and then radiates that on the outside. Someone who care for others and loves God with their whole heart.

  29. Darcy Gray says

I think true beauty comes from within but it never hurts to put forth a little polish on the outside either.

  30. Ashley Hart says

Wow, it’s great, 2 great giveaways in 1 week. I think the key to beauty is working with what you have and not working against it, it’s all a party of you, the lines, wrinkles, it’s your history, just embrace it! :)

  31. Julie Reynolds says

Beauty is the outer grace and glow that flow from someone who knows that their outer beauty comes that feeling on the inside that you get when you KNOW how valuable you are to the MOST HIGH GOD.

  34. says

True beauty is first inward. And I also believe whether its a man or a woman, much of a persons inner beauty is seen through the eyes. Next, beauty is seen in the character of the person…through heart issues. Graciousness, mercy, compassion, tenderness, hope, encouragement are all the real demonstration of a persons true beauty. None of those attributes involve perfection. To the contrary. and when it comes to natural outer beauty I believe it is so great when a product line shows people how to enhance their own natural features, bringing out the best.

  35. says

As cheesey as it sounds, I think that some of the most gorgeous women in the world are the ones that know that their beauty is not merely external, but comes from them having self-confidence in themselves no matter how they appear on the outside. :)

  36. Angie G. says

I use the bare minerals foundation and would love to try the eye shadow! Thanks for the chance to win!!

  37. Kathy says

I think it’s amazing how you might meet someone and not be exactly struck by their beauty. But as you get to know them you start seeing how beautiful they really are. You start seeing true beauty when you see through the filter of love.

  38. K Skipper says

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Bare Minerals! I am excited about this new eyeshadow, and I can’t wait to try it!

  39. says

A force of beauty…is from the inside first and the outside just expresses it. As a mother of 3 daughters, I try to minimize the emphasis on outer beauty and make sure they know what’s on the inside matters most.

  40. Debra F says

I try to embrace all my features….those that I appreciate and even those that are not ideal. I use my makeup to enhance my beauty….not cover it up, and always remember the old cliche that beauty truly comes from within.
