Fashion Friday Edition: the one before Valentines Day

Some of you let me know last week that you felt my punctuation was wrong in the title of each Fashion Friday and so I hope you’re happy now. I’d honestly never thought much about it because I am only focused on all the cute clothes, but whatever.

Here are a few cute things I found this week in this weird season between winter and spring where we are experiencing almost ninety degree temps in Texas which has never had me more confused about how I’m supposed to dress in the morning. What is clear, however, is that I need to go get a pedicure because I’m about to break out my sandals.

1. beulah button-down tunic

I’ve had my eye on this for a while. I love the dark grey color because it makes it perfect for right now and then later with white jeans, plus the beading gives it that little something extra. It’s on sale for $59.95 plus an extra 25% off with no code needed at checkout.

2. gap denim embroidered top

Gap is killing it with the denim tops this spring. This one has the best sleeves and is 40% off with the code FORYOU.

3. teleza lace swing top

4. old navy embroidered yoke tunic

This is really cute and just $25. It also comes in other colors but this striped version is a little different which makes it fun.

5. grenada pom pom stretch bracelet

My love of turquoise is well-documented so of course I adore this bracelet with the hot pink pom poms. It’s the perfect accessory for all your spring and summer outfits.

6. old navy lace trim sleeveless top

This top comes in several different colors but I am partial to the pink or the white. It would look great with everything from white jeans to regular jeans to a pair of shorts when it’s officially summer.

7. bp twist front tee

This twist front tee is only $22 and comes in several colors. It’s an easy way to throw on a tee but make it look a little nicer all because of a twist.

8. tory burch miller flip flop

Are these ridiculously expensive for a sandal? YES. But are they ridiculously cute? YES. I am dying over this navy striped version and they also have a red and white stripe.

9. vans classic slip ons

My slip on Vans are one of my favorite pairs of casual shoes because they are so comfortable. I can wear them all day long and not hate them by the end of the day. And this pale pink version is so pretty.

10. turquoise mesa hoops

It’s rodeo time in San Antonio so my thoughts have turned to turquoise jewelry and I am in love with these hoops.

I also love these beaded fringe earrings. They come in several colors and are so much prettier in person.

Fashion Friday: Edition the Nordstrom anniversary sale

Y’all.

We are still on the road trip. We’ve made it to Bryan and I’ve already had one or six of Honey’s brownies and Caroline is currently taking a nap at 4:00 in the afternoon which has me concerned that she’s getting sick because you know how many naps she’s taken since she was three years old?

TWO.

And both times she had strep.

But I’m taking a break in our reports from the road to discuss the Nordstrom Anniversary sale. Gulley and I have decided the Nordstrom sale is brilliant because it’s incentive to buy things that you’d never normally buy in July but will be so glad you have come November or December.

The sale has been open to cardholders over the last week, but officially starts for the public today and I will tell you that the good stuff goes fast. Also, you can see last week’s picks from the sale here if you’re interested.

Here are some other things I love:

1. lush perfect roll tab sleeve tunic

I am such a fan of these tunics and I like this because it appears like it’s a little bit longer than usual. These are great alone or layered under a vest or sweater in the winter. It comes in several colors and is on sale for $27.90.

2. hooded jacquard cardigan

This is one of those things that will make you so happy you bought in once the weather gets cold. It’s $44.90 and is normally $68.

3. karly shift dress

I don’t know that this is a dress for most of us, but it does appear to look like it good be great with leggings and boots or booties. It’s on sale for $31.90.

4. indian summer cardigan

I love this, especially the back view and it’s on sale for $45.90.

5. nike gym vintage hoodie

Who doesn’t need a hoodie? Especially a vintage one for $35.90? This one also comes in gray heather and black.

6. blurry plaid wrap coat

This may be my favorite of all. I’m not sure when I think it will actually be cold enough to wear it, but a girl can dream. This is a great deal right now at $149.90 marked down from $248.

7. salinas tall boots

I haven’t seen these boots in person or tried them on, but they have great potential. Love the detail on them and I think these boots in black may be exactly what I wanted all last winter and never found. They are on sale for $129.90 normally $189.95.

8. trott bootie

I bought some flat booties last year but want a version with a heel because sometimes you need a little height. These have great reviews and are on sale for $79.90 normally $119.95.

9. ugg jemma quilted sneaker

These are Uggs so you know they’re comfortable. I love the quilted look and they have great reviews. They are on sale right now for $74.90 but normally $109.95. These are the perfect shoes for every casual outing this fall and winter.

10. crisscross hoop earrings

Love the unique look of these earrings. And they’re just $15.90 and come in silver.

11. kut from the cloth flare jeans

Flare jeans are FINALLY and THANKFULLY coming back around and this is a great time to find a pair because lots of them are on sale. I haven’t tried on this exact pair, but I did try on some other Kut and Kloth jeans last year and loved the way they fit. These are on sale for $62.90.

12. the north face ruka parka

For those of us who may spend our weekends outdoors watching our kids play sports in the cold, we might be in need of a great jacket that looks equally great with jeans or with yoga pants. I love these North Face jackets and this one is on sale from $134.90 but will go up to $180 after the sale is over.

Fashion Friday: Edition God bless America

I nearly didn’t do Fashion Friday this week because of the July 4th holiday, but then I got an email from Anthropologie yesterday announcing that everything on sale is an extra 20% off and it led me down a trail that involved me railing against the internet because the entire Anthropologie site seemed to crash just when I was ordering a top that was almost out of stock and by the time I was able to get back to my shopping cart checkout it was sold out.

Sometimes life is cruel.

And I’d show you the top but it’s all for naught now because it is SOLD OUT.

However, there are still plenty of good fashion times to be had.

1. beaded maxi coverup

This beaded maxi coverup is probably a little overkill for the neighborhood pool or a day at the watermark. But perhaps you have a vacation planned to the south of France and you have a need for poolside glamour. I don’t know your life.

Fashion Friday: Edition how is it almost July?

I meant to mention this all week and kept forgetting. And the truth is I want to write a whole post at some point about our Community Worship Service and how it’s all going.

But in the meantime, I just thought I’d share that I’ll be speaking for the first time there this Sunday, June 28th.

Fashion Friday: Edition the last one of May

It has been a crazy day and I have got to get in bed before I just fall over on the living room rug and wake up in the morning with a waffle-like print on my face.

But first, here’s a gratuitous puppy picture.

I know.

They’re so cute that I can almost forget that they pulled down the drapes in my living room this week.

I tried this dress on at Gap yesterday and it is so cute. It’s also comes in a great blue that’s almost sold out online but you might be able to find it in stores.

2. stripe dobby fit and flare dress

This appears to be a similar look but this is only available online. Love the stripes.

3. faux wrap jersey jumpsuit

Jumpsuits are making a comeback. It’s true. And even though they are a total pain when it’s time to go the bathroom, they can be super flattering. This one has great reviews.

4. stripe scoop back romper

This would make a cute swimsuit coverup.

5. sleeveless faux wrap blouse

Apparently I’m all about a faux wrap today. I love these tops and this one comes in so many cute patterns and colors.

6. stripe foldover skirt

I also tried this on at Gap and LOVE it. It’s super soft and a great length. But if you remember my scientific fun fact from yesterday you’ll remember that everything will eventually be 40% off. I’m waiting for that.

7. vintage kanta bag

Love the colors in this bag. It’s perfect for summer.

8. mai tai mini dress

I have a navy dress that’s really similar to this and I love to throw it on during the summer. This is really cute and a great price.

9. lucky brand cover up

Zappos has a ton of great swimsuit coverup options and this is just one of them. All kinds of styles at various price points.

10. capuchina dress

I love the pattern of this dress and it has fabulous reviews. It could totally work for a night out all the way to a summer wedding. Really, really pretty.

Fashion Friday: Edition it’s Memorial Day weekend

This is going to be quick because I don’t know if I’ve mentioned this but we brought two puppies home this week and I’m a little tired from all that goes in to that. I’m sure I’ll be able to compile all my thoughts on this process into a post for next week.

But today is about fashion.

1. calendula peplum blouse

I think this would be so pretty with white jeans or even regular jeans for a night out.

2. old navy gauze embroidered cover up

Old Navy has some great swimsuit coverups right now and this is just one of them. Plus, you know they’re going to have some type of Memorial Day sale going on.

3. natasha multistrand necklace

I featured this a while back because I bought it at Nordstrom and fell in love with it immediately. But I wanted you to see it again so I could share that it is my favorite accessory right now. I’ve worn it more times than I can even count and it adds a great pop to almost all my summer outfits.

4. roberta roller rabbit pareo sarong

These sarongs are so cute and come in several great color combinations and they’re on sale. I love that you can throw them on by themselves over a swimsuit or tie them around your waist paired with a tank top.

5. 7 for all mankind skinny gray jeans

I’ve been in the market for a pair of gray jeans for a while now. I think they’d look great now with white t-shirts and the turquoise necklace I featured above with sandals. And then great in the fall and winter with boots and a long sweater. These are on sale and are a great deal for a pair of 7’s.

6. j.crew embroidered peasant top

Love this top. It also comes in white.

7. beachside tunic dress

This is really great. Love the colors for summer. It would work as a great coverup or worn over a pair of skinny jeans. Plus everything at Ruche is 25% off with code MEMORIAL2014 at checkout.

I’m a sucker for navy and green together. Love that combo. This is another dress that could work in a variety of ways.

9. toms platform wedge sandals

I came so close to buying these wedges earlier this year and now they’re 15% off. They are really comfortable and come in several great colors. I’m partial to the chambray or the taupe.
