I’m afraid if I start writing I won’t be able to stop. I have had some serious blog withdrawal this week and have had to confront what are apparently highly narcissistic tendencies considering how much I feel the need to share every moment of my day with the internet.

The upside is I have never had so much free time. In fact, Sophie and I found time to record a podcast this afternoon, even though it meant I had to stop watching last week’s episode of “Friday Night Lights” for the third time.

In my defense, I was just trying to prepare for the season finale.

Also, I just finished watching the season finale and will probably watch it another twenty-six times between now and Monday. With a box of Kleenex nearby. Coach Taylor gets me every time and, seriously, don’t get me started on Tim Riggins.

Anyway, none of that has anything to do with the material contained in the podcast. We basically discuss food, our dislike of coconut, the origin of the water chestnut and if it is, in fact, a nut, and my quest for a maxi dress.

In other words, the usual nonsense.

It is with shocking irregularity that we manage to produce any sort of podcast. I’m not sure what the problem is, but I may think it may be directly related to why we are just two moms being big goobs on the internet as opposed to, say, Oprah Winfrey.

But with the MOST SHOCKING conclusion in “Bachelor” history, Sophie and I felt like we wanted to share our thoughts on the subject along with various other reality T.V. programming.

I can guarantee there probably won’t be much insight on the whole Molly/Melissa/Jason love triangle that hasn’t already been analyzed, but that’s kind of our motto. Bravely going where a lot of other people have already gone.

Just in case you thought you may not get anything good for Christmas this year, we’re giving you the gift that will keep on giving for 45 minutes or so.

And sure, it’s basically a whole lot of nothing involving discussions of top teen idols of our youth and ill-spent Sunday nights at Mazzio’s Pizza after youth group. But where else can you find that kind of random content on the internet for free besides everywhere you look?

The good news is that the podcast was ready in time for me to put it up today because I am in the midst of great Christmas festivities in Bryan/College Station involving unbelievably long lines to see Christmas lights and hayrides and therefore am extremely busy.

In fact, just the memory of it makes me warm and happy.

Let’s just say that I knew Travis was talented because he does stuff like sing with the London Symphony and record at Abbey Road, but I have never been more impressed than I was in the middle of this podcast.

We also have an extensive discussion in which we troubleshoot our audio. It is riveting.

And there is some discussion of American Idol.

And Nascar.

We are very well-rounded.

I know, I know. You’re thinking we just did a podcast but, no, that was about eight weeks ago. It just seems like yesterday.

Anyway, we’ve actually recorded a few other podcasts, but they were either extremely boring or had sound issues or both. My personal favorite of the podcasts that will never see the light of day is the one where Boomama and I actually answered questions for Travis the way we thought he would answer them.

I bet he would have loved that one, too.

We feel fortunate to have Frydaddy joining us again. We weren’t sure his busy schedule would allow him to be back, not to mention an unfortunate trip to Puerto Rico where he almost met his untimely demise in the form of severe stomach flu.

But, here we are, back again. As usual we cover topics ranging from musical influences to shoes to March Madness. I’m sure you’ll be enthralled.

I’m a little late getting this up because we spent our day at the rodeo. I currently smell like a goat and may possibly have horse poop on my boots. And cotton candy in my hair.

But here it is. Our much anticipated podcast with Travis Cottrell. I have no idea of all the information contained therein because, as usual, Boomama did all the editing. All I contribute to the podcast is my voice and my name.

Much like James Earl Jones on CNN.

Except without the stellar vocal stylings and major network.

Travis was more than delightful. He put up with all our ramblings and vast technical difficulties and for that we are grateful. We were a little worried about whether or not his voice would translate well to a recording because he really doesn’t have the experience we do.

Unless you count that whole musical career thing.

Anyway, y’all will love listening to how he and Angela met. It will make you say “Awww.” I promise.
