  • Fashion Friday: Edition the live Big Boo show weekend

This is going to be quick because I’m currently in Brenham for a live Big Boo Cast show with Sophie and Retha. I can assure you we are having a ton of fun.

But here are some cute things I found this week. Some of these are on the pricier end because they are too pretty to not share.

    1. adore moi dress

We have a Sundance store that’s not far from our house and I like to go look at everything in person from time to time. This week I saw this dress and it’s so pretty if you have an occasion for a dress.

It’s $258. It also comes in honey and maroon.

    2. Maeve low slung flare trousers

I tried these pants on a couple of weeks ago and they are so cute. But I didn’t feel like I could post houndstooth pants during the week the Aggies played Alabama so I’m sharing them now.

    They are $148.

    3. Marais printed chiffon dress

There are a bunch of different colors and patterns of this dress, but I love this green because, well, I always love green.

    It’s $180.

    4. make you mine plaid top

There have been like five mornings so far when the weather has felt cool and I’ve worn a plaid flannel shirt on all them. It’s just a great thing to have and I love these muted colors.

    This is $46.

    5. free people whistle thermal henely

Do I think henley is spelled wrong in this description? I do. But that’s how they spelled it on the Free People website and I’m at the age where I just assume it’s some new term I don’t know about that the kids say.

Anyway, I love this henely/henley sweater and the oversized fit. Plus the buttons make it darling.

It’s $148 and comes in several color options.

    6. old navy relaxed plaid overcoat

It’s hard for me to resist a good plaid overcoat except that it was 92 degrees here this week and there are only so many coats a girl in South Texas needs. But this is so pretty.

It’s $84.99 but an extra 40% off taken at checkout.

    7. sleeveless cropped cozy turtleneck sweater

I really love a sleeveless sweater for a Texas fall, plus this is easy to layer under a jacket or coat if it ever gets cold enough.

This is $36.99 but an extra 40% off taken at checkout.

    8. nike women’s fleece pants

I ordered these sweatpants because the reviews said they were a more slim fit and they are. They are still very much sweatpants, but they don’t look sloppy or too baggy.

They are on sale for $30.97 normally $60.

    9. champion c9 women’s active workout tanks

These were one of my five favorites on the podcast this week and I posted about them on Instagram. I’ve been looking for new workout tanks forever and never could find ones that were long enough or fit loose instead of being skin tight. These are great and they’re just $16.99.

    10. sam & libby remi lug sole loafer

Several of you asked if I could find you a starter lug sole loafer so you could try it without a big price commitment. These are super cute and just $35.

    That’s it for today.

    Have a good Friday.

BTHO it’s a bye week and I don’t have to stress over Aggie football.

  • Big Boo Cast: Episode 307

This week Sophie and I find ourselves on opposite ends of football fortune, so you’re going to hear a lot of sympathizing, a lot of commiserating, and a better than average amount of celebrating. Plus, as you might expect, we offer our perhaps misguided but nonetheless enthusiastic analysis of the last play of the A&M / Alabama game. WE HAVE SOME THOUGHTS.

There’s also a good bit of discussion about Sophie’s hair, a recap of Alex’s time home during fall break, and it’s my turn for Five Favorites.

    Enjoy, everybody!

  • Fashion Friday: Edition just when you think things can’t get worse

I’m not even kidding that I was about to start this post off with a lament about the sad state of Aggie football and the fact that our starting QB has a broken hand. This is never great under any circumstance but especially not before you play Alabama.

Then, as I was titling this post with “just when you think things can’t get worse”, the entire post deleted itself and all of Fashion Friday was lost.

So the lesson here is things can always get worse. This applies to football, fashion, technology, and the fact that it’s supposed to be in the 90s again here by next week. Jesus, hear our prayers.

Here are some cute things I found this week and please know that I’m having to try to remember all of them because the previous post GOT DELETED.

    1. stars above cozy pajamas

First off, these are the best pajamas ever and they are on sale through Saturday for $17.99. I already bought another pair to have as a backup. That’s how much I love them.

    2. Maeve the colette cropped wide leg pants

I went shopping in person this week and I’m going to tell you it was kind of depressing. There were very few highlights for me in a world that seems to be full of crop tops. However, I love these pants.

They come in several different colors although I love this one the best. They fit true to size and they are $138.

    3. windowpane sweater coat

I love a sweater coat and this one is such a pretty neutral palette. It’s $89.

    4. gap flannel big shirt

I have always loved a gap flannel shirt. I actually bought one of Gulley’s old ones from her years ago for $2 and it was the best purchase I’ve ever made. This is just a great basic to get you through fall and winter.

It’s $69.95 but some of the other colors are on sale and I bet this one will be this weekend.

    5. white oversized boyfriend shirt

Basically after shopping scarred me this week, I decided I will be wearing oversized button down shirts with jeans for the foreseeable future. It’s a look that’s easy, age appropriate and doesn’t require a belt. SOLD.

This is $34.99 and it’s just a great white shirt.

    6. kut from the kloth straight leg jeans

There is so much confusion about what jeans everyone should be wearing and we are really at a point where anything goes. But I personally believe the best basic jean to have in your closet this year is a straight leg jean. They work with oversized tops and sweaters and they are flattering on every body type. They can be fitted but you just don’t want that skinny taper thing that happens with skinny jeans. You want a true straight leg. This may be the kind of thing you want to go try on at a store.

These are a great option and this brand usually fits well. They are $99.

    7. free people jayde cord flares

If you want something fun, these are great. I tried them on and they are super high-waisted so I wouldn’t wear anything tucked into them. However, they are fitted through the leg so an oversized sweater or top would look great with them. I’m 5’6″ and would definitely need a 2-3 inch heel to make these work. They are so pretty and come in several color options.

    They are $98.

There’s also a great hot pink version available here.

    8. Maeve crew neck puff sleeve sweater

This sweater is a great solution to high waisted pants. It’s slightly cropped but not too cropped. And it’s incredibly soft with the cutest puff sleeve. I loved it as soon as I tried it on. I would tell you that it runs large because I easily fit into a small and I’m normally a medium in tops.

This is $98 and comes in several colors.

    9. anrabess turtleneck batwing sweater

This is a perfect sweater in my opinion. Easy to wear with jeans or leggings. You can dress it up or dress it down. And it comes in just about any color you could want.

It’s $34.99 but the price varies depending on the color.

    10. dolce vita hawk waterproof Chelsea boots

I ordered these last week and have already worn them twice. They are so comfortable and look so cute with jeans. I’m a big fan. And they come in several color options. They are $150.

    That’s it for today.

    Have a great Friday.

BTHO Bama. (I don’t feel great about it.)

  • Big Boo Cast: Episode 306

Well, the Bulldogs and the Aggies played football this past weekend, and as you can imagine, only one of us is pleased with the outcome. We break down all of our respective feelings about the game (y’all may want to keep me in your prayers) before we move into our weekly Side Eyes and I See Yous.

We also discuss Sophie’s recent trip to the northeast, she offers some book recommendations, and it’s her turn for Five Favorites.

    Hope y’all enjoy!

  • Fashion Friday: Edition one day away from October

Well, we’ve almost made it to October. And the weather did feel slightly better here this week even though I would still like about a twenty degree drop in temperatures. However, just losing the 98% humidity helped immensely and there was even a morning when I wanted a light jacket.

Here are some cute things I found this week.

    1. universal thread cable knit sweater vest

I’m getting a lot of questions about what you wear with the new straight leg and wide leg jeans trend. This type of sweater is perfect because it’s just a little bit shorter. You need things that hit at or near your waist. And I like this because you could just wear a tank under it until the weather really cools off and then add a long sleeve shirt later.

    It’s $28.

    2. a new day quarter zip sweater

This is another good option. It’s just a little bit shorter silhouette.

It’s $35. Also comes in a gorgeous royal blue.

    3. elan multi pattern cardigan

I love a bright colored cardigan. You can wear this over leggings and a t-shirt or with jeans and booties. Either option is super cute.

    It’s $89.

    4. promesa ruffle peplum hem sweater

Can you tell I’m ready to wear sweaters? I think this one is so pretty and would look so great with jeans and booties.

    It’s $79.

    5. thml medallion sleeve top

This one is all about the sleeves and I love it. This is another great top option that looks good with straight or wide leg jeans.

    It’s $89.

    6. striped clutch bag

Love this striped bag. It’s a great fall option.

    It’s $79.

    7. ruffle neck long sleeve blouse

By the time the Aggies have another home game it’ll be the end of October and I’m hoping that means cooler weather. I love this top and it comes in other colors.

    It’s $79.

    8. lug sole platform loafers

A few of you asked about a more reasonably priced lug sole loafer and I found these on Amazon. I love this ivory color but they come in other colors as well.

    They are $70.99.

    9. waffle knit henley sweater

A waffle knit is my favorite of all the knits. It’s just so cozy. I really like this to wear with jeans.

It’s $36.99 and it comes in several colors.

    10. dolce vita hawk h2o booties

I really like these booties for a good casual option. They come in several color options and are $150.

    That’s it for today.

    Have a good Friday.

  • Big Boo Cast: Episode 305

It was a victorious football weekend for the Aggies and the Bulldogs, so of course Sophie and I offer our perspectives on both our teams. I also share my relief that I can put another year of the Arkansas / A&M rivalry behind me, and we both have some side eyes and I see yous.

We share some collective surprise that there’s so much good TV to look forward to (fall is going to be very kind to us in that regard), and I break down my latest scent adventures with my Pura (these are exciting adventures indeed at our current stage of life). Plus, it’s my turn for Five Favorites.

    Enjoy, y’all!
