This was me this week when it finally rained for all of ten minutes in San Antonio.

I realize most Texas summers are hot and dry, but this has been the worst one I remember and so the rain was a welcome delight. I would like for it to start raining and not stop until December. The end.

And since I am totally over summer and summer clothing, most of today’s finds have fall weather in mind. The weather will eventually cool off and so I am planning accordingly.

Here are some cute things I found this week:

1. Maeve colette faux leather pants

Leather is going to be a big trend for this fall and winter. These are my very favorite Anthropologie pants in a faux leather version. My guess is these will sell out fast once the weather cools off and people won’t be afraid to be Ross Gellar and get stuck in some leather pants.

2. hoka Clifton 8 running shoes

I will continue to rave about Hokas. This is the version Caroline has and loves. The come in several color options and are $139.95.

3. pull on wide leg crop pants

Someone sent this link to me after I did my Game Day post last week. These are so cute. And Loft refers to their version of maroon as rich aubergine. It makes it sound very fancy.

They are $69.95 but 25% off. They also come in black or olive. And reviews say they are more ankle length if you’re 5’4 or under.

4. Kendra Scott britt gold choker necklace

Kendra Scott released a whole Game Day jewelry collection and it is so cute. There are basically all the team color choices. This necklace is $80.

I realize it’s hard to think about a sweater, but I really love this star cardigan.

10. kork-ease Arden open heeled sandal

This is such a great shoe to wear through the fall. It has the versatility of a sandal, but looks more like a fall shoe.

We are officially to August which means we are in a month where college football games will be played. Is it still hotter than the surface of the sun? Yes. But are we that much closer to fall and football and fun? Also yes.

So it felt like a good time to curate a selection of game day options for all of us. Naturally, I’m starting with maroon because it’s my true love. But I have also done my best to find offerings in all the various colors represented by all the various college football teams at various price points.

I realize not all these colors are a one size fits all situation (says the girl who is very particular about her maroon falling more towards the purple/plum spectrum than the red spectrum) but hopefully there is something here for you whether you are more of a true red Georgia Bulldog or a crimson red Alabama fan. I even found some orange things and, well, it was a sacrifice.

Anyway, here are a few things I found categorized by color. And it’s fair to say that most of these will be much more wearer friendly as we get toward mid-September. I feel like those first couple of games, especially in College Station, are more like the Hunger Games and you just wear what you need to survive the heat.

I also found a few good white shirts even though those are easy to find. I always feel like if all else fails, you can wear a white top and accessorize with your team’s colors.

One last note, a lot of these pieces come in different colors so if you see something you love you may want to check to see if it does come in your team’s colors.

I realize this is naive of me and I’ve lived in Texas long enough to know better, but for some reason this year it feels like August is the light at the end of the tunnel. Is it still going to be scorching hot? One hundred percent yes.

But are we at the point where it might feel better in two months? Yes.

This feels like a pathetic victory, but I will take it where I can get it.

Caroline left for school yesterday and so this is going to be quick since I spent most of the last week helping her pack and get ready. She left early because she’s going to be a counselor at IMPACT camp but Perry and I will move her into her new place while she’s there and when she gets back from camp she’ll just go there until school starts. All that to say, we’ve been a little busy around here.

But here are some cute things I found this week:

I realize you may be like me and tired of summer and summer clothes, but this dress feels like it could get you through September for sure. I love the bright colors.

I’ve already worn them multiple time with an oversized button-down and sandals, but you could totally dress them up with a blazer or a more tailored shirt for work.

This is one of the shirts I have worn with the aforementioned black pants. I’ve also worn this shirt with cut off denim short and black leggings. It’s just a super versatile addition to my closet. Caroline even said it was really cute which SCORE.

I know. Maybe we don’t want to think about swimsuits anymore, but I had to share this. I have been on the hunt for a good one piece basic swimsuit and this one is the best I’ve tried. It is so comfortable and supportive, plus the straps are adjustable. It’s just a great basic one piece swimsuit that I feel would be universally flattering.
