  • Big Boo Cast: Episode 256

Naturally we kick off this week’s episode with my recap of the A&M / Alabama game, which was all manner of memorable for me (and most people who love college football, I would add). We also break down other big match-ups from this past weekend, complete with Side Eyes and I See Yous.

Plus, we discuss some recent TikTok fascinations (for Sophie), and Sophie shares her Five Favorites.

    Enjoy, y’all!

  • Fashion Friday: Edition and I’m headed back to College Station

Yes. So this weekend is basically a repeat of last weekend for me. I’m headed back to College Station except this time I am going without the misplaced optimism I had last weekend about football because, well, we’re playing Alabama.

Maybe you’ve heard of them. They are very good at the American football.

But we always manage to have a good time no matter what happens on the field so I’m excited about the trip and looking forward to making some new memories. I mean last week a lady sitting next to me offered me homemade fudge at halftime and that’s the kind of stuff you can’t really plan for.

Anyway, here are some cute things I found this week. Now if only the Texas weather would cooperate.

    1. yasamin tiered midi dress

This is such a pretty fall dress. Love the cut and the color.

    It’s $129.

    2. a new day pullover

I ran in Target the other day in an attempt to buy Perry some white cheddar jalapeño Cheetos because they’re the only local store that carries them. Except they were totally out. And now you can’t find the Cheetos anywhere, even on the internet. It’s a real crisis.

However, I did happen to see this burgundy pullover and it is so soft and so cute on. Perfect for Aggie events if the temperatures ever decide to cooperate and its one size fits most. It would actually make a great Christmas gift because the sizing is easy.

It’s $25 and it comes in other colors.

    3. Erika boots

I love these Able booties. They have this very subtle leopard pattern but are still totally neutral and the heel is the perfect height for all day wear.

They are $120 but 20% off with code BIGMAMA20 at checkout.

    4. Maeve cassandra maxi dress

Maeve continues to make my favorite dresses from Anthropologie. I really love this one for fall.

It’s $160 and it comes in other color patterns.

    5. sleek twist front tunic blouse

I love a tunic blouse and this one is so pretty and unique. It’s $98.

    6. twist of fate cream aztec cardigan

The aztec prints are a very big trend right now and this sweater looks so cozy and soft. Plus, it’s just a great neutral.

    It’s $52.

    7. distracted by you wrap tie cardigan

This wrap tie cardigan is so pretty and could easily be dressed up with jeans and booties or just worn over athleisure when you’re out running errands.

It’s $48. It also comes in rust or black.

    8. hey nuts hawthorn athletic high waisted leggings

I have long sworn by the colorful koala leggings on Amazon and they are still very, very good. But I think these might be my new favorites. They are so buttery soft and honestly feel better than my much pricier Lulu leggings. I wore them to workout on Monday and immediately came home and ordered another pair. I wear a small and am normally a 4-6.

They are $29.99 and come in several colors and some patterns.

    9. on your own hunter green plaid top

This is the cutest fall top. I love the cut and I love the plaid.

It’s $50. It also comes in a burgundy and rust plaid.

    10. oversized vintage tunic sweatshirt

I bought this sweatshirt last year and will buy another one this year. It’s a great lightweight sweatshirt that’s a great length for leggings and just easy to wear all day long.

It’s $35 and comes in other colors.

    That’s it for today.

    Have a good Friday.

    BTHO Bama.

  • Big Boo Cast: Episode 254

Since The Big Boo Bowl was this past weekend, we obviously have a few Mississippi State vs. A&M-specific things to discuss on this episode (spoiler alert: the game turned out to be an early birthday present for Sophie). I also offer my Side Eyes of the Week, along with a new segment that features the applause function on my little gadget that has primarily booed up until this point. It’s a joy.

We also talk about the our new phones and how Sophie thought for a split second that Perry needed to talk to her this past Saturday. Plus it’s my turn for Five Favorites – always a delight.

    Hope y’all enjoy!

  • Fashion Friday: Edition I’m headed to College Station

So it’s officially October and this weekend kicks off my plan to be in College Station to watch Aggie football almost every single weekend of the month. It really is the most glorious time of the year and now I just need the football team to cooperate and play in a way to not ruin my fun.

It would also be lovely if the weather got the memo that it’s time to settle down and cool off for a sustained period of time. This is all I’m asking.

Here are some cute things I found this week:

    1. obvious reason taupe turtleneck oversized pullover

This is the kind of thing I’ll want to live in once the temperatures drop. So cozy and comfortable and perfect with leggings.

    It’s $48.

    2. uncomplicated my life pullover

Maybe it’s because it’s rainy here, but I’m wanting all the cozy things. This comes in several color options and is $42.

    3. Jane Maxi dress

This is one of my personal fall favorites. It’s a great lightweight dress that is so easy to throw on and wear, plus you can dress it up or down.

It’s $150 but you can get 20% off with code BIGMAMA20 at checkout.

    4. amazon essentials soft touch hooded pullover

I ordered this last week because I thought it looked like a cute option to wear with jeans and sneakers and I was right. It is so super soft and I love the hood.

It’s $28.90. It comes in several colors. I’d size up one if you want it a little looser.

    5. frye Melissa button inside zip leather boots

I know I’ve featured these before but they are such a great deal for a classic pair of boots.
They are on sale for $149.97 and normally $378. They also come in black.

    6. nothing to lose orange and navy dress

This is the cutest dress to wear with tall boots or booties.

    It’s $44.

    7. cozy crush cable knit cardigan

I love this cable knit cardigan because it’s the perfect winter coat for Texas most days. It’s soft and it comes in several color options. It’s easy to dress up or just to throw on over some athleisure.

    It’s $58.

    8. Buffy kimono cardigan

I think this is so cute and I love the colors for fall.

    It’s $52.

    9. a new day women’s crewneck pullover sweater

I saw this sweater in Target this week and it’s so cute and soft in person. It comes in solid colors and this darling plaid.

    It’s $25.

    10. j.crew lightweight utility jacket

This is such a great jacket if you’re in the market for a good multi-purpose lightweight jacket. It’s water resistant and comes in several color options.

It’s 50% off and on sale for $74.50.

    That’s it for today.

Have a good Friday and BTHO Mississippi State.

  • Big Boo Cast: Episode 253

It wasn’t really a fantastic college football weekend for either of us, but we still have ourselves some laughs in this episode. After all, Caroline was home for a couple of days, Alex celebrated his senior homecoming, and I assembled a fine assortment of side eyes.

Also, you’ll hear a clip of our Patreon conversation with our friend Ree Drummond, and it’s Sophie’s turn for Five Favorites.

  • Fashion Friday: Edition September has flown by

This is the last weekend of September. I’m not sure how we got here so fast but I don’t hate it. Especially because we just experience the first “cold” front of the season this week and it renewed my will to live.

The thing about Texas summers is they last for about five months and by the time you get to the end of August, you aren’t sure how you’re going to keep functioning like a normal human being for another month of heat and despair.

But then one day in late September, the winds shift to the north for a brief, yet glorious, twenty-four hour period of time and you remember that live is still worth living and maybe you even laugh again.

Am I being dramatic? Yes. Is it all true? Also yes.

In other news, the Aggies play Arkansas this weekend so I’d appreciate your thoughts and prayers to that end. This is the game that almost kills me every year.

In the meantime, here are some cute things I found this week:

    1. enduring love rust floral maxi dress

This is such a great floral pattern and so perfect for a fall that may have cool mornings and warm afternoons. All you need is a denim jacket and a great pair of booties.

    This is $54.

    2. attracting looks camel corduroy top

I really love this top, both the cut and the color.

    It’s $58.

    3. story teller hunter green midi dress

This dress in green would be so perfect for the holidays. I realize it’s hard to think that far in advance, but trust me. You’ll be glad to have this in your closet come December.

It’s $56 and it also comes in black.

    4. the Whitney boyfriend jeans

I got these jeans this week and immediately fell in love. They remind me of a pair of boyfriend jeans I had back in 1987 and are the best blend of baggy and fitted. And you will not even believe how soft they are. They honestly feel like pajama pants.

They are $85 but you can get 20% off with code BIGMAMA20. I would recommend sizing down if in between sizes.

    5. pink plaid shacket

Well, this is the cutest. I love the bright pink.

It’s $52 and it also comes in green.

    6. boyfriend flannel shirt

You know I’m always on the hunt for anything in maroon. Love this plaid top from Banana Republic.

It’s on sale for $38.99 plus an extra 20% off at checkout. It comes in several color options.

    7. j.crew western chambray shirt

This J.Crew denim shirt is my favorite of all the denim shirts. The chambray version is on sale for $80.99 plus an extra 40% off with code MOREFALL at checkout.

Several of you asked me about denim on denim and this top totally works for that because the trick is you want a lighter denim on top and a darker denim on bottom.

    8. marc fisher shay pointed toe booties

I bought these last year and they are so good. They go with everything from jeans to dresses and are on sale for $89.97 They come in several color options.

    9. Ziggy denim overalls

I bought these about a month ago and have worn them so much already. They are the softest overalls ever and just look cute dressed up or down. And they are roomy enough that I’ll even wear lightweight sweaters under them when the weather cools off.

They are $98 and they come in a bunch of colors.

    10. colorfulkoala leggings

These leggings are my favorite of all the Amazon leggings. I have bought multiple pairs in multiple colors and patterns. They are so soft and comfortable.

    They are $29.99.

    That’s it for today.
