I realize there are some of you that live in places that regularly see freezing weather and icy precipitation, but it’s a real novelty when you live in South Texas. This is evidenced by the fact all kinds of things have been canceled due to the wintry forecast even though none of it has actually happened yet.

But, true confession, I kind of love the cold weather and am desperately hoping for some snow. Why? So I can post about it on Instagram.

Here are some cute things I found this week. Just know that Nordstrom is having a big sale and it’s worth your time to go look around.

1. zella restore soft pocket leggings

These are unfortunately not on sale, but they are so good. They fit like a legging with the look of a jogger and are so flattering.

2. chelsea28 cowl neck sweater

This sweater has been one of my favorite purchases of 2021. It’s super soft and a little oversized. I like that it’s a shorter length but not cropped so a normal person can wear it. It looks cute with everything from joggers to jeans and is easily dressed up or down.

It’s 58% off and on sale for $28.97 and comes in a bunch of color options.

3. sorel out ‘n about waterproof booties

I think these are the cutest little booties and so warm.

They’re 40% off and on sale for $54.

4. treasure & bond crewneck pullover

This is another great basic sweater. It’s slightly oversized, super soft and comes in a bunch of color options.

5. steve madden transport studded strappy sandal

This weekend does not make me think about wearing sandals, but these were my favorites last summer. They are so cute and come in several color options.

They are on sale for $59 and normally $79.95.

6. tory burch casual zip up bootie

Listen. These are still pricey even though they’re on sale, but they are a great classic bootie. I really love them and they’ll last forever. I don’t need them but wanted to show them in case maybe you were hoping a good Tory Burch bootie would go on sale.

They were $378 but are now 40% off and $226.80.

7. some hearts white top

I love a good white top to transition into spring and summer and this one is so cute. You could wear it with shorts or dress it up with jeans or pants.

This is such a cute little necklace and would be great for layering with others.

I was in Target the other day and saw these in person. They are so unbelievably soft and just about the perfect loungewear pants. They are just $19.99.

10. abercrombie mid rise jean leggings

Abercrombie has jeans on sale right now and their legging jeans continue to be my favorite skinny jeans. They are on sale for $47.40 and come in a bunch of different washes.

But just in case you’re worried about the youths making fun of us for our side parts and skinny jeans and emoji usage, you could always opt for something like these kut from the kloth kelsey ankle flare

I bought a pair like this at the end of the summer and love them. They are so versatile and are on sale for $69.99.

And then these penny pull on flare jeans are also a favorite. They fit like leggings and are so stretchy and comfortable.

They are $78.

I will end by encouraging you to wear jeans that make you feel good about yourself and that feel comfortable to you because these young girls are now wearing the very mom jeans that we used to wear and now cause us to look back at our high school yearbook photos and wonder what we were thinking.

This hoodie has great reviews and I love that it’s a longer length.

Listen. If I had just known to spend more time (or any time) on Reddit.com, I could be a Game Stop millionaire right now. Instead I was on Instagram looking at people’s kitchen remodels and buying new drawer organizers that some influencer made me think I needed.

Live and learn.

On the upside, I finally have a general, low-level understanding of the stock market and what it means to buy and short sell stock. This could have really benefited me when I watched Season 3 of Yellowstone.

I had a pair of earrings almost just like these and then we went out to eat Mexican food last Saturday night and somehow I only made it home with one earring on. In my defense, I needed to breathe better after eating a plate of cheese enchiladas.

I think I say this every year at this time, but shopping is just kind of bleh right now. Most of the good winter sales are over and/or totally picked over and it still feels too early to think about spring and summer stuff.

Then factor in a pandemic and really having no idea when we’ll need a lot of real clothes again and it just adds up to a big nothing.

However, I persevered and managed to find some things I like and I hope you might like them too.

I think these are really cute and I’d absolutely buy them if I could justify owning one more pair of boots. They are normally $119 but on sale for $59.98.

These thicker chain necklaces are a big trend going into spring and summer. I think this one is so pretty and it’s $48.

5. waffle knit cowl neck sweater

This continues to be one of my favorite sweaters of the year. It’s so soft and comfortable. Easy to wear with leggings, joggers or jeans.

I realize we basically just got back from Christmas break, but I guess 2021 has already worn me out because I was so excited when I realized MLK day is Monday and we have a three day weekend.

I’m not even sure why that matters because Caroline hardly even goes to school at this point but I guess it’s just the mindset. I really don’t know.

Anyway, here are some cute things I found this week.

I believe my love of a waffle knit is well documented and I love the tunic length of this. It comes in a ton of color options and is just $21.99.

4. layla embroidered blouse

This is not on sale but is basically everything I love in a top. It would be so cute with jeans now and denim shorts later. It’s $148.

5. michael stars v-neck jumpsuit

This is the cutest jumpsuit. I have a black jumpsuit that is really similar and I have basically worn it out. It can be dressed up with heels and a leather jacket or dressed down with sneakers and a denim jacket.

6. a new day sweatshirt

I bought this sweatshirt in November and it’s one of my closet staples. It’s just $20 but feels like it’s so much more expensive. It’s warm without being too heavy and has the best hood. I ordered mine in a medium and have worn it with jeans and leggings.

It comes in a ton of color options.

I also love this all in motion full zip long sherpa jacket because I’ve been needing a good warm jacket to wear when I walk the dogs on cold days or to throw on over my workout clothes when I’m out running errands.

It’s $48 and it also comes in a rose color that’s so pretty.

7. swim too deep turtleneck sweater

This is a great Free People sweater and it’s on sale for $69.90. It comes in several colors but I really love this bright yellow. It would look so cute with the white jeans featured above. I’d size down because free people always runs big.

This is such a cute cardigan jacket and it’s on sale for $49.90. It also comes in camel and would be so versatile.

9. madewell striped belmore pullover sweater

I love a striped sweater. It’s true. And this one is so bright and fun. Madewell is having a huge sale right now and this was originally $92 but on sale for $24.97.

It is final sale so just know that if you decide to buy.

10. c.c. chenille pom knit beanie

Since it’s school soccer season, it’s the time of year when I wear a knit beanie at least twice a week. I’ve done a lot of beanie research and this one is a favorite. The chenille knit is so soft and so warm. I love that it’s a little bit oversized and it fits without being too tight and giving me a headache – or worse- weird lines across my forehead.

And while I’m on the subject of good accessories from Amazon, I love these hometop fuzzy memory foam house shoes. They are so comfortable and the memory foam really holds up.
