  • Fashion Friday: Edition Happy Halloween

    Yep.

We’ve made it to Halloween weekend.

Halloween falls on a Saturday night, we turn the clocks back an hour, there’s a full moon and the Aggies play the Razorbacks. What could possibly go wrong?

    via GIPHY

But I found a lot of cute things today, so let’s get started.

    1. colsie faux fur lounge tunic sweatshirt

I saw this in Target and it is the dreamiest. So super soft and just like a warm hug. It’s long enough to wear with leggings and it’ll keep you cozy all winter long.

It’s $25 and also comes in a rust color.

    2. evelin maxi dress

I think this dress would be so pretty for the holidays. It’s on sale for $99.95 plus an extra 25% off. It also comes in a wine color.

    3. afternoon strolls mocha cardigan

I really love this because pairing black with brown is one of my favorites and this does that all in one handy cardigan. It’s $48.

    4. a new day cable knit open cardigan

This is a great cable knit cardigan. It’s a good length, soft and just easy to throw on over whatever for an extra layer.

It’s $29.99 and also comes in navy.

    5. fine knit sweater

This sweater from H&M is just $19.99 It comes in a bunch of colors including a gorgeous purple. I love this green, but don’t sleep on purple. It’s a great unexpected pop of color during the holiday season.

    6. old navy oversized pattern blazer

I’ve been wanting an oversized plaid blazer and found this one at Old Navy. It’s a great length and fit.

It’s $49.99 but 20% off with code SWEET at checkout.

    7. chelsea28 turtleneck sweater

I love the length of this turtleneck sweater and also the weight of it. You can totally wear it by itself but it also works as a layer underneath a cardigan or jacket.

It’s $69 and comes in a bunch of colors.

    8. j.crew leopard scarf

This darling leopard scarf is on sale for $19.95 and would make a great Christmas gift. Especially if you paired it with this matching leopard faux fur pom pom hat.

The hat is on sale for $15.50.

    9. anrabess high low waffle knit tunic top

I love this because it’s maroon but also because I am powerless to resist a waffle knit top.

It’s $23.99 and it comes in a ton of color options.

    10. abercrombie high rise jean leggings

I know I keep talking about these jeans but they really are that great. They are as comfortable as leggings, but come in so many great denim wash options.

They are $78 but it’s buy one pair, get one pair 50% off right now.

    That’s it for today.

    Have a good Friday.

  • Fashion Friday: Edition lots of cute stuff today

This has been a whirlwind week. I left for Pawhuska, OK early Sunday morning and then got home Wednesday late afternoon. Then I had my first in person speaking event since last December last night. And I have two more Zoom things to do later today.

Plus, I still need to go vote which is on my to-do list for today.

All that to say, it feels good to be a little busy and have actual things on my calendar.

Here are some cute things I’ve found this week:

    1. oversized chunky knit batwing cardigan

I love an oversized comfy cardigan to throw on over workout wear or with a cute graphic t-shirt and jeans.

This one comes in a bunch of color options and is just $37.98.

    2. aliana waffle pullover

I went to Anthropologie this week and this was the piece of clothing that tempted me the most. It is so cute in person and this green color is so pretty. Super cute option if you need some good casual options.

It comes in several color options and it’s $88.

    3. anrabess turtleneck long sleeve sweater

I finally got this yesterday and it’s everything I hoped it would be. This blue color is dreamy and it’s essentially just like the Free People version. I ordered the small and it’s plenty long enough to wear with leggings. I’d size down if you’re in between sizes.

It comes in a ton of color options and is $33.99.

    4. plaid coat with shearling hood

I think this is such a great coat option, especially for those of us who live through warmer winters. It would be so cute over a t-shirt with jeans and hiking boots.

It’s $44.97 and also comes in a green or a white option.

    5. chooka eastlake chelsea faux fur waterproof boot

I love this cute waterproof boot option with faux fur for rainy days. This olive green is a great neutral and these are on sale for $39.97.

    6. a new day travel wrap

I was in Target last week and saw this in person. I fell in love immediately. It’s so unbelievably soft and the perfect layer. It could also be worn as a thicker scarf or used as a wrap on a cold airplane.

It’s $20 and comes in several color options. It’s one size fits all and would actually make a great Christmas gift for the women in your life.

    7. abercrombie high rise jeans leggings

These jeans continue to be my new favorites. They are so comfortable and stretchy and soft that I’ll wear them instead of actual leggings. They are currently buy one, get on 50% off.

They come in a bunch of wash options and run true to size.

    8. blue ombre sweater

I featured the brown version of this sweater a few weeks ago, but now I’m in love with this blue version. It’s so pretty and it’s $48.

    9. wild fable quilted jacket

This quilted jacket looks just like a Free People version that is four times the price. This would look great dressed up with jeans or booties, but would be equally cute over your athleisure.

It comes in pink, black or olive green and is just $35.

    10. billabong sunburnt maxi wrap

I featured this back in the summer and Gulley bought it for me for my birthday. I love it so much and it looks great over all black. Now it’s on sale for $34.99.

    That’s it for today.

    Have a good Friday.

  • Fashion Friday: Edition the high today is supposed to be in the 70s

As I’m typing this, I can hear the north wind blowing and the forecast is saying it’ll only get up to about 71 degrees tomorrow. I find this delightful.

And in true Texas fashion I’ll probably be getting all my sweaters down from the top of my closet just in time for it to be back in the 80s and 90s by next week.

I’m also currently watching For the Love of the Game with Kevin Costner and Kelly Preston. It’s one of my all time favorite movies. I highly recommend if you’ve never seen it before although it’s hard to believe that Kelly Preston is no longer with us and Kevin Costner plays a grandpa on Yellowstone.

Anyway, here are a few cute things I found this week:

    1. crz yoga buttery soft leggings

I love the AE offline leggings for just wear around and run errands leggings, but these are the best budget option workout leggings I’ve found. They have just enough compression and aren’t see through, plus they come in a ton of cute colors.

    They are $24.

    2. hooded midi teddy coat

I think this coat is darling. It comes in black and rose also. It’s $50.

    3. when you’re ready taupe and plum sweater

I probably won’t make it to an A&M game this season, but how cute is this sweater for those of us who love maroon?

    It’s $39.

    4. anrabess turtleneck sweater

This is allegedly a great knock off of the Free People sweater that is three times the price. I’ve ordered it but it hasn’t come in yet. However, it feels promising and I love that it’s long enough to wear with leggings.

It comes in several colors and is $32.99.

    5. main street memories plum top

Maybe it’s because the Aggies play Mississippi State this weekend, but I’m liking a lot of maroon things even though they are calling this “plum”. It’s so pretty and also comes in white.

    It’s $44.

    6. barefoot dreams cozychic leopard poncho

Listen, this is pricey at $124 but it looks like a dream. So cozy and soft, but could be dressed up or down. It’s hard to go wrong with Barefoot Dreams.

    7. thread & supply plaid shirt jacket

These shirt jackets are a big trend for fall. I’ve seen some people refer to them as “shackets” but I don’t feel good about that.

Whatever the case, this is super cute worn buttoned over jeans or leggings or worn as a lightweight jacket over a t-shirt. It’s $49.

    8. old navy french-terry tunic

I bought this last year and wore it all the time. It’s a great length over leggings and just the right weight to wear around the house when the weather cools off.

    It’s on sale for $28.

    9. korks meegan mid boot

I love a boot with a chunky heel and these are just so cute. Would be great worn with leggings or with jeans or even with a skirt or dress. Basically, they would go with anything.

They are on sale for $99.97.

    10. old navy fleece zip-front jacket

This is a great fleece to wear over your workout clothes or with your athleisure when you’re just going to Target. It’s on sale for $22 and comes in several color options.

    That’s it for today.

    Have a good Friday.

  • Fashion Friday: Edition I really hope the Aggies beat Florida

Because hope springs eternal, I really believe the Aggies have a chance against Florida this weekend. Which is why I will get up for Gameday and the dreaded 11 a.m. kickoff time and cheer them on. Sometimes love means you have to believe the best.

Here are some cute things I found this week that I may buy to cheer myself up if the Aggies lose. Never underestimate the power of retail therapy.

    1. tessie sherpa lace up hiking boots

If you are interested in trying the hiking boot trend, but want to do it at a lower price point then these boots from Target are a great option. They are just $39.99.

They also come in taupe or black.

    2. jacket with gathered sleeves

I am so happy that blazers are a thing again because it’s such an easy way to dress up a pair of jeans. You can wear a cute t-shirt underneath with a pair of booties.

I love the longer length of this one and the gathered sleeves because it’s the look of a rolled sleeve but without having to mess with actually rolling the sleeves.

    It’s $49.99.

    3. vintage butterfly t-shirt

Speaking of cute t-shirts, this Etsy site has some of the cutest t-shirts I’ve seen. Tons of designer inspired shirts like this one and also some great concert t-shirts.

Most of them, including this one are $28.

    4. all in motion french terry pullover

I ran in Target the other day for a few things and ended up leaving with this pullover. It’s much cuter than it looks and a perfect lightweight layer to throw on over my workout clothes.

It’s $24.99 and comes in several other colors.

    5. pilcro seamed tunic buttondown

I had to go return something to Anthropologie this week which is when I discovered two things: This shirt and the fact that most stores at the mall don’t open until 11 a.m. right now. I had no idea because that’s the first time I’ve been to a mall in months.

Anyway, this shirt is so good. Super soft, a great length and comes in tons of color options. It’s $98 which is pricey but I’ll totally be waiting for it to go on sale.

    6. goodfellow 1/4 snap fleece sweatshirt

This is actually in the men’s department at Target. I mentioned it on the podcast last week but wanted to show it here because it’s so good. It feels like a Patagonia but is just $29.99.

I ordered the medium and it’s long enough for me to wear with leggings, but not overly bulky. It comes in several other colors and I know it will basically be my uniform this winter.

    7. knee length sweater coat

I love a sweater coat, especially a longer one. This one hits right below the knee and is just $35.

It comes in several other colors and is basically the perfect winter coat when you live in South Texas.

    8. offline warmup drawcord legging

I’ve featured these so many times but they are seriously my all time favorites. You can wear them as leggings or joggers and they are slightly fleecy on the inside which makes them warm and cozy when it gets cool outside.

They are on sale for $37.46 They also come in black. And you don’t have to do that pose when wearing them unless you just really enjoy how stretchy they feel.

    9. gracelynn pleated peasant blouse

This is another top that I’ll be waiting to go on sale. It’s $138 right now. But I love the style and that embroidery detail on the sleeves is so cute.

Plus I like tops like this because you can easily tuck it in or just wear it out.

    10. a ways to go mocha multisweater

I really like the colors and ombre look of this sweater. It would look perfect with my Free People flares and booties because it has kind of a seventies vibe to it. It’s $48.

    That’s it for today.

Have a good Friday and BTHO Florida.

  • Fashion Friday: Edition it’s October

I just got home from our high school’s first football game of the season. The air was cool, the band marched on the field, the cheerleaders cheered and the football players played.

Then the sun set and the moon came up. And it was red.

Normally, I would just think “Wow, cool moon!” But because it’s 2020, I kind of wondered if it was perhaps a bad omen.

Then I remembered the Aggies play the Crimson Tide this Saturday and realized, yes, that’s probably a bad sign of things to come.

On the bright side, here are some cute things I found this week:

    1. h&m turtleneck sweater

I love sweaters from H&M. They are always soft and not itchy. And this one is just $34.99.

    It also comes in gray.

    2. velia maxi dress

This dress is pricey at $188 but it’s one I’ll keep an eye on for when it goes on sale. I love all the colors.

    3. h&m cable-knit sweater

This is another great H&M sweater. I love an ivory cable-knit sweater and I almost bought this one before I remembered I already have at least three in my closet because I buy a new one every year because I forget what I already own.

This one is $39.99 and would be perfect with leggings and boots.

    4. h&m loose-knit sweater

I do own this sweater. It’s a great lightweight sweater that I can wear right now and looks great worn out or you can do a half-tuck into jeans.

It’s $24.99 and it comes in several colors and plus sizes.

    5. j.crew western chambray shirt

I think a denim shirt is a great basic and everyone should have one in their closet. You can wear all denim, you can wear denim with camo or another print, you can wear this shirt open over a tank or t-shirt or you can wear it buttoned-up. You can tuck it in, wear it out or tie it in a knot.

This one from J.Crew is my personal favorite. It’s the perfect washed look, super soft and very flattering on.

It’s on sale along with a lot of other things with the code 5DAYS at checkout. It also comes in petite and tall sizes.

    6. sole society eavan faux shearling bootie

I bought some boots very similar to these last winter and I love them. They would look so cute with the cream cable-knit sweater up above and some leggings or skinny jeans.

They are $119.95 and also come in other colors.

    7. topshop animal print chiffon top

I really love the print and the detail of this top. It would be good for the office or a night out paired with jeans and black booties.

    It’s $68.

    8. gold hoop earrings

These gold hoops are about the best $10 you could spend on a pair of earrings. I love that they have the clasp so you don’t have to mess with earring backs and they are just a great shape and color for everyday wear.

    9. adidas swift run sneaker

These are still some of my favorite sneakers for when I’m wearing athleisure. They are $85, super comfortable and come in several color options.

    10. make your mind up stripe cardigan

This is the cutest striped cardigan. It’s $55.

    That’s it for today.

    Have a good Friday.

    And BTHO ‘Bama.
